At 11:34 AM on January 30^th, an unidentified witness captures three short videos of a large black rectangle shaped object floating across the sky outside Atlanta. This person wrote a report and submitted the sighting to MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, later that evening. There has been little buzz about this sighting within the traditional news agencies in the Atlanta area. If the object was that large, surely it was observed by more people.

Here’s what has been reported:

Witness was heading to lunch when s/he saw a very large dark colored rectangle shape object floating across the sky. Witness recorded three distinct and separate, though brief, videos. Witness attached the video to the submitted report, which was made later that evening.

Additional Information: An airplane visibly flies over, if not near, the object.

We can surmise several things. Conyers, GA, is a small town with over 16,000 residents. It is the only chartered city within Rockdale County, which has roughly 90,000 residents. It is situated east of Atlanta and easily accessible via I-20.

January 30^th was a Wednesday. The video was shot across the street from a business on N. Main Street/Rockdale Industrial Blvd, a two-lane road. The road runs parallel to I-20, a large and busy interstate. The weather that day had a high around 42 degrees. It was clear with no precipitation. The video recording is clear. The footage appears to be recorded on a cell phone. At least 9 cars passed the witness recording the video in one of the videos. Nothing appears out of the ordinary…except for the lack of additional reports.

The trouble with believing this video is the lack of additional reports. Reportedly, this object was huge—some even reporting comparisons to a 727. This object was supposedly seen during the work day, in the middle of the work week. Multiple cars drove past the witness. An airplane flew over the object. None of the major news media in the Atlanta area covered this story.

Verdict: Unsubstantiated
