Cursed Films Returns for Season 2

A lot of Cursed Films fans wanted a season 2. Is it happening? Seems so!

Various sources, such as Collider and Bloody Disgusting, have reported that AMC’s horror streaming service, Shudder, has renewed their hit docuseries Cursed Films for a second season. However, the films in question this time around might come as a surprise for some fans.

Whereas last season focused strictly on horror and paranormal films that had troubled productions, this new season is much broader. It’s been revealed that Cursed Films will now explore The Wizard of OzRosemary’s BabyThe Serpent and the RainbowStalker, and Cannibal Holocaust.

Some of these choices seem to make perfect sense. Cannibal Holocaust, for example, has been notoriously despised since its release and has been the source of controversy for decades. It was once believed the movie was a “snuff film” and that the depicted murders were real. Later on, it was revealed that the animals shown being killed in the film actually were killed during filming, leading many to criticize the movie for animal cruelty.

However, other films, such as The Wizard of Oz, are hardly known as cursed or controversial movies. It will be fascinating to discover what went on behind the scenes that audiences never heard about.

In a release on Syfy Wire, it was also revealed that audiences won’t have to wait long for the second season. It’s due to premiere on April 7th.

Cursed Films can be streamed on Shudder as well as AMC+.

  1. I’ve seen all these films except Cannibal Holocaust. That’s kinda odd because Cannibal Holocaust sounds like the kind of “fun” film I’d enjoy.

  2. Eeek. I have never seen Cannibal Holocaust and never will now that I know animals may have been harmed in the making of the movie. How awful. But great to know there will be a Cursed Films 2. You introduced that to me in the first place, Keith, and I binged it all up!

  3. I would’ve watched based on the name alone but I’ve never seen it and now knowing animals die? Nope. I’m out. Might even have to skip that episode of Cursed Films season 2. lol

  4. Oh, you can’t skip the episode! Knowing that this kind of thing used to happen is an important part of film history (and art history). I remember in school we were always taught the line “To avoid repeating mistakes in the future, it’s important to remember the past”.

  5. You make an excellent point, Keith. Touche. I’ll watch and just hope they don’t show any of the dead animals and only just talk about them instead. I could handle that I think.
