Destination Fear Confession and season 3 scariest locations reveal YouTube cover

Now that the second half of Destination Fear season 3 has been announced, I can share something I couldn’t earlier: the locations the Destination Fear team each felt were scariest this season. )Well, everybody except for Chelsea.)

Right after season 3 premiered in July, I interviewed Dakota Laden, Tanner Wiseman, and Alex Schroeder. Sadly, Chelsea had another commitment that day so hers is the only answer I don’t know. However, one of the questions I’d asked the guys was what each of their scariest locations was this season.

Which they answered, but I accidentally extracted info that wasn’t meant for public consumption at that time, particularly concerning Dakota’s answer. I was asked not to share that so, of course, I didn’t.

But as soon as I heard the rest of season 3’s episode would start premiering on November 6, I asked if it was okay to share the omitted portion of the interview and got the thumbs up! So let’s check it out.

Alex Picked the Scariest Locations

Dakota answered that his scariest location this season was one Alex picked: the Indiana State Sanatorium, or episode 14. It will premiere concurrently on Travel Channel and discovery+ on December 11. Here’s its description:

Alex pushes new fear boundaries with his pick for the next stop. Not only has the Indiana State Sanatorium never been explored, nobody in the world knows what lurks within its walls. This investigation will challenge the team unlike any other!

Tanner had responded that it was also one of Alex’s picks that had terrified him, the Odd Fellows Home. That episode has already aired and was part of the first half of season 3. Tanner said he really didn’t like being without flashlights and possibly having a real person creeping around in the dark with them.

That episode clearly left an impression on viewers too. A woman named Maria recently left a comment on the post announcing the Destination Fear season 3 part 2 episodes about the Odd Fellows Home investigation. She said, “Ironically, one of the times this crew was most weirded out and scared was when it became pretty clear that there was a living person, at least one – it was uncertain if there were two people, lurking on the property.”

As I responded after Tanner talked about the incident, “That’s heartstopping. People are way scarier than ghosts.”

I stand by that statement.

Alex agreed with Dakota that, even though he picked the Indiana State Sanatorium, it was his scariest too. He explained there wasn’t a lot to go on, so they didn’t know what to expect really and the fear of the unknown set in.

However, even though those couple of locations were scariest for each of them for different reasons, there was actually one they all agreed on was the most terrifying this season.

Scariest, Most Terrifying Destination Fear Season 3 Location

I perked up when Dakota said, “This is also interesting too. The finale of the second road trip is without a doubt the scariest, most terrifying location we’ve ever been to. That’s all I can say for now. I’m not going to say where it is, what it is, anything else. But the very, very last episode of the second road trip of season three is almost a little too much.”

Tanner and Alex agreed.

Dakota went on to say, “It’s unreal. I still can’t believe we went there.”

Tanner added, “Yeah. I did not see that coming. I had no expectations that we were going to go to a place like that, and the fact that we actually did still blows my mind and still terrifies me to this day.”

Whoa. That’s super intriguing, right?

Well, we now know the season finale is “Spike Island,” which airs concurrently on Travel Channel and discovery+ on Christmas Day, December 25. Here’s its description:

The second part of the team’s epic trip to Ireland takes them to Spike Island, one of Ireland’s most haunted and notorious prisons – also known as “Hell on Earth” and “Ireland’s Alcatraz.” The dark forces on the island are overwhelming, and terror hits Tanner like a ton of bricks. But something else lights up Dakota with a fear he’s never experienced before.

Watch & Listen

You can hear Dakota, Tanner, and Alex’s answers for yourself, as well as a confession I made.

After screening their Nopeming episode, I admitted that I didn’t really understand the concept of the show or why it was on Travel Channel. Since then, however, the crotchety old lady in me has changed her tune. Why?

I explain my Destination Fear conversion in the vlog too. Basically, part of it has to do with Dakota’s Ducks. But mostly it has to do with Dakota, Chelsea, Tanner, and Alex as a whole. They’re just so much fun to spend time watching!

  1. Spike Island must have been a nightmare for those imprisoned and working there.:-(

Way back in the dark ages when Star Trek TNG started, I decided I wouldn’t like it because Star Trek TOS (way back in the dark, dark ages) was SO GOOD! But I ended up loving TNG and the freaky Borg and Worf and everything. Oh, but Kirk is still the best captain, totally.

So many of the jails just had so many heinous conditions, I’m never surprised when they’re scariest. Even just the thought of being locked up is terrifying. You’d think those who had to stay there would never want to return, and it’s very intriguing that haunted jails always are such a lure. Yet, I get it. So many also have the coolest creepy architecture too. But when it comes with scary, terrifying entities…gulp!

And OMG!!!! I love your answer! I also remember you saying you were a Star Trek fan so I just naturally figured it was an automatic thing. Nope. This was fun to learn! THANKS for sharing!!!!
