Last year, ID rebooted its groundbreaking missing persons series, Disappeared, which they’re bringing back again. The new season starts on Sunday, August 20 at 10/9 c with a special two-hour premiere, Disappeared: The Bradley Sisters. New episodes about other heartbreaking, unsolved mysteries from across the country will follow weekly thereafter.
They haven’t released details on what the other episodes will be about, but they will follow the same formula as previous seasons. Each episode begins right before a vanishing occurs and chronicles the search for clues that may indicate what happened. Will it lead to new details or context that may be able to help decipher the truth and a pathway home for the missing?
In some cases it has. I know Wikipedia gets a bad rap, but they have a comprehensive list of Disappeared episodes and their outcomes. A lot of the missing still haven’t been found, but the series gives families hope their loved one’s story will lead to more answers. Especially because the stories are presented with an urgency for the public to come forward with any information they may have.
Will that be the case with the Bradley sisters? Time will tell. For now, let’s look at what the special two-hour episode and its companion podcast will be about.
Disappeared: The Bradley Sisters
Disappeared: The Bradley Sisters sheds light on an unsettling mystery that has haunted Chicago since July 6, 2001, when 10-year-old Tionda and 3-year-old Diamond Bradley disappeared without a trace from their apartment.
The past two decades since the Bradley sisters disappeared have been full of twists and turns. Retired Chicago PD Detective Pamela Childs, who was part of the investigation in 2001, revisits critical theories and evidence while exploring the undeniable impact the sister’s disappearance had on their family and the community at large.
The ID special will present never-before-seen interviews and unprecedented access to the Bradleys, including mother Tracey. The special culminates in a shocking admission from a key family member, which rocks the investigation to its core.
The episode premieres on Sunday, August 20, from 10 pm – 12 am ET.
Disappeared: The Bradley Sisters Podcast
Those looking to dig further into the case of the Bradley Sisters and hear more about the active investigation can subscribe to the Disappeared podcast on Apple, Spotify, and other podcast providers. The Disappeared: The Bradley Sisters companion podcast will consist of eight episodes. The first two will be available immediately following the ID premiere.
Will the Diamond Bradley DNA results be in the episode?
ABC 7 Eyewitness News was among the sources that shared a recent update on the Bradley Sisters case. A woman in Texas submitted DNA for analysis after coming forward believing she may be Diamond Bradley.
However, another Texas woman also made a similar claim in 2019. She wasn’t one of the missing girls. There have also been other false leads over the years. Many of them. But the missing girls’ great-aunt, Sheliah Bradley-Smith, told reporter Liz Nagy about this newest one, “I must admit, this is the first one that someone has been eager to go take a DNA test.”
The trouble is DNA analysis takes a while. The woman came forward in May of this year. It’s possible the results aren’t back yet and won’t be part of the Disappeared episode. We’ll soon find out.v

Are you looking forward to the new season of Disappeared?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
