Recently Disney Cruise Line announced Halloween on the High Seas cruises will return in 2024. The seasonal sailings will provide guests with spirited fun on select cruises. Let’s take a look at when they’ll start, what they’ll offer, where they’ll sail from, and which ships will conjure up the spooky fun.
Halloween on the High Seas 2024 Dates
The special Halloween cruises will sail starting mid-September through October 2024.
Halloween on the High Seas Festivities
What to pack for a Disney Cruise Line Halloween on the High Seas cruise? Costumes and dancing shoes!
Per DCL, “Families will dress up and join Disney characters in their Halloween costumes.” And guests can also “dance the night away at a spooky celebration on the upper decks.”
Just make sure the costumes are forgiving because what’s a party without food? And in this case, it involves “spinetingling themed food and beverages.”
And, of course, Imagineers never spare any details. Just like you can in the parks, guests on board the ships can “immerse themselves in a ghostly ship takeover with elaborate décor and a magical Pumpkin Tree.”
The Halloween on the High Seas Ports and Ships
Halloween on the High seas will be available on three ships: Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Magic. They will embark from either Port Canaveral or Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.
Select sailings on Disney Magic and Disney Fantasy will allow families to discover fun and relaxation at Disney Cruise Line’s newest destination in the Bahamas: Lighthouse Point, which will start welcoming visitors in 2024. Located on the island of Eleuthera, the vibrant beach retreat will provide a unique celebration of Bahamian culture brought to life with the quality and service of a Disney vacation.
Port Canaveral, FL
Disney Wish
Frightful fun abounds on three- and four-night Bahamian voyages.
Disney Fantasy
Cruise night lengths vary from four, six, and seven nights.
The four- and six-night sailings transport families to The Bahamas.
The seven-night itinerary will transport guests to fan-favorite destinations throughout the Bahamas and Caribbean. You have your choice of Eastern or Western Caribbean cruises. Both include stops at Disney Castaway Cay. (And possibly Lighthouse Point.)
Western Caribbean cruise ports include Cozumel, Mexico; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Falmouth, Jamaica.
Eastern Caribbean cruise ports include Tortola, British Virgin Islands; and St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Disney Magic
Cruises vary from three to five nights but also sail to tropical destinations in the Bahamas and Caribbean.

Would you like to spend Halloween on the High Seas?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
It’d be hard for me to enjoy Halloween on the high seas because I like to greet the kids in costumes and hand out candy. But I know that’s not everybody’s thing, so I can understand why a Halloween cruise would be popular!
If it were Haunted Mansion themed, I’d be so interested. But then I’m the sort repressed Goth who wishes the parks would have Haunted Mansion themed hotels, too.
Still, the timing is interesting. I can’t even think to go because I get to go to Paris this October to soak in ART.
I can 100% appreciate your answer, Vera. Even though I love traveling to see Halloween things, ON the day itself I prefer to be home for the exact same reason as you!
OMG, Maria, YES! Where is a Haunted Mansion-themed hotel? We need one!!!! And I was also wondering how much Haunted Mansion they’d incorporate on the ship. I’d imagine they’d have to have some. But a whole Haunted Mansion-themed cruise would be even better! lol
And Paris?! Ahhhhh!!!!! How exciting!!!
