Dalen Spratt, Juwan Mass, and Marcus Harvey are returning to TV with new episodes and a brand new series that flips the switch on the paranormal in Ghost Brothers: Lights Out.
The show follows the three best friends as they venture into the unknown. Ghost Brothers: Lights Out debuts Saturday, April 17 exclusively on discovery+. There will be three new episodes at launch and five additional episodes following every Saturday.
Ghost Brothers: Lights Out Overview
What happens when you combine a celebrity barber with two fashion designers, all with a strong curiosity in the unknown? You get The Ghost Brothers straight outta Hotlanta, the first and only black paranormal crusaders seeking the truth in the spiritual realm!
As the dopest brothers hunting ghosts on television, these candid and unorthodox paranormal investigators explore disturbed hotspots across the country. They not only check them out but also size up local legends and supernatural stories. They are ready to expose the haunted holdouts still hanging around these locations…and why they don’t leave.
Marcus and Juwan kick off each investigation by entering haunted sites without any prior knowledge of the paranormal territory they are walking into.
Dalen, on the other hand, knows all the creepy history. Observing from his own mission control center, he guides his friends through the most active areas of the property.
Going in blind, Marcus and Juwan must discover for themselves what matches up with the legend and what does not.
Each member of the team has their distinct role:
- Dalen a.k.a. “The Bad Boy of Paranormal” is the risk-taker
- Juwan a.k.a. “Paranormal Poppy” is the suave, pretty boy of the group
- Marcus a.k.a. “The Soul Brother” brings a combination of heartwarming soul and comedy.
The trio strikes a healthy balance with Dalen bringing a sense of adventure, Marcus creating a bit more of a relaxed vibe, and Juwan adding compassion. The balance breathes a fresh point-of-view into the paranormal genre, a new perspective that fans might think they know, but they’d think wrong.

Which episode(s) pique your interest most?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
“Ghost Town Throwdown” piques my interest the most because I want to know if anyone got hurt. I mean, “violent” spirits doesn’t sound good at all!
What the hell is with all these shows going to Discovery+?? It’s almost as if Doscovery is send a big “F You!” to everyone who watches their shows!
Another excellent Priscilla observation/explanation! I much prefer the idea of a violent ghost minus the “n”. lol
You know, I saw something on Dread Central about that and meant to write about it, then decided not to, but I think I will look that back up and write about this because a lot of people are digging their heels in and refusing to subscribe to discovery+ so… You may have just inspired another post! I’ll tag you on Twitter if I write it!
I pay enough for cable already , I’m not going to pay another “starting at $4.99” to watch this stuff….If all these shows signed lousy deals with cable providers thats not my problem….I can live without watching all these shows
Ooo! I just wrote another post sparked by William’s complaint about discovery+ and now here’s your comment, Dan! I’m glad I wrote it up now. People are NOT happy about this…and totally understandably so! It’s sort of hard with Travel Channel anyway because they’ve gone so much to the dark side. It’s mostly paranormal and very little true travel like it used to be. You have to really like a certain show or channel to subscribe I think. I happen to like it because we were streaming anyway and I had the reverse problem of not being able to see certain Discovery brand shows. Now I’m loving being able to watch BUT I have to admit I signed up for the 7-day free trial ONLY to watch a couple of things, including Ghost Adventures: Cecil Hotel. Then I was going to cancel. Instead, I found some great new-to-me ID shows and my hub discovered Undercover Billionaire so we decided to drop one of our other streamers instead. So…I guess I’d say stick to your guns so you don’t get snared like we did! lol
