Grand Opening of the Haunt Jaunts Halloween Emporium

I was trying desperately to get HJ’s newest endeavor, the Haunt Jaunts Halloween Emporium, up and running well before October. Sadly, like so many of my big ideas, it didn’t quite happen the way I’d envisioned.

However, better late than never right?

I’m pleased to announce that for all intents and purposes, our shoppe is now open for business. (With some minor things still to be done, so pardon some dust you may still encounter.)

WHAT YOU’LL FIND IN OUR EMPORIUM

Really, all it is is a collection of pages I created based on stuff I’ve found from our affiliates. The pages are:

Each page has a drop down menu with other sub-categories. For instance, you’ll find such things as Funny Men’s Halloween Costumes under Men’s Halloween Costumes, Scary Halloween Costumes for Women under Women’s Halloween Costumes,  Halloween Costumes for Dogs under Pet Halloween Costumes, and Halloween Doormats under Halloween Decorations.

Here’s a few examples of some of my favorite merchandise:

Miss Oktoberbreast Adult Men’s Plus Size Costume – I put this one on our Outrageous Men’s Halloween Costumes page (which can be found under Men’s Halloween Costumes). I think it’s one of the most clever and hilarious costumes I’ve seen. It features a “beer tap bust.” (Yes, you can store and pour beer from the nipples!) It’s so wrong, and yet so right.

Mayan King and Mayan Queen costumes – These are on the Couples Costumes page. Perfect for 2012 and the end of the Mayan calendar and all, n’est-ce pas.

Whoopie Cushion Pet Costume – I love dog costumes and this one made me chuckle so I knew I had to stock it. It’s under the Halloween Costumes for Dogs section of Pet Halloween Costumes.

Sleepy Hollow Door Mat – Since I strive to be a paranormal travel-oriented site, and since I have a penchant for spooky stays, this door mat caught my eye. And it’s, where else? Under the Halloween Doormats section of  Halloween Decorations. (I decided to create a whole section for them since there are so many awesome  doormats out there.)

WHY THE EMPORIUM

I decided to do a dedicated site to Halloween because:

1. I love Halloween, and
2. I get a ton of hits on my Halloween posts (in particular the Halloween costumes and decorations).

However, my Halloween posts also have the highest bounce rates.

I think it’s because people who find my Halloween posts do so primarily through search engines. They’re looking for specific things. I decided to give them a place where they might find more to look at.

Also, again, it’s about selling. I have to pay to host my domain. Any sales I make help me to keep my site live. Anything over that helps fund future jaunts. And of course I always donate a percentage of any money I make to the Lymphoma Research Foundation.

HAUNT JAUNTS HALLOWEEN EMPORIUM BLOG

In addition to the dedicated pages of products, I also have blog capabilities over there. Our inaugural post was Terrifying Halloween Costumes for Kids.

I plan to do more for the rest of the season. However, we’ll see how that goes. Me and my big plans that don’t always go as planned and all.

But I’ve added a section to HJ’s sidebar under the part that reads “Our Halloween Emporium” that’s called “Posts from our Halloween Emporium.” Any posts I do will show up there.

Anyway, I hope you’ll have fun browsing the items I’ve selected to put in the Emporium. I really enjoy looking at all the stuff for sale to celebrate Halloween. And, yes, in many cases buying too. (I picked the affiliates I did, because, quite frankly, I’m my own best customer.)
