Glitter Graphics Maker & MySpace Layouts
THE WINNER
We have a winner in the Guess the Followers contest! The official number of Twitter followers @HauntJaunts had by 5 p.m. March 30, 2010 was 1,353.
The person with the closest guess without going over was Dardrian! (In fact, it was an almost spot on guess at 1,352!)
Congratulations!
SMALL HITCH
There’s only one problem, Dardrian didn’t leave an email or website or any way for me to contact him/her when they left their comment.
Dardrian, I hope you’ll see this. Please send me an email at cmroch@courtneymroch.com so I can get your info and ship out your $50 gift card to TGI Fridays, $20 gift certificate to Fandango, and Phasma Ex machina poster.
RUNNER-UP
On the off chance Dardrian doesn’t see this by April 30, 2010, the prize will be awarded to the runner-up, who was Susan Fry with her guess of 1,300 even.
DONATION TO THE LYMPHOMA RESEARCH FOUNDATION
I hope you all had fun playing the guess the Twitter followers game. It sure was neat to see so many people chipping in to spread the word. Especially because the amount of Twitter followers Haunt Jaunts had by March 30th determined the size of my donation to the LRF.
1,353 x .05¢ = $67.65.
That’s not bad, but as I alluded to on HJ’s Facebook fan page last night, I have a little surprise.
In addition to the above amount, I’m also going to donate .05¢ for all of LRFs Twitter followers (aka @lymphoma). Which, as of this posting is 1,151. That adds another $57.55 to the pot.
But wait, I’m not done. I’m also going to donate an additional .05¢ for each of the fans on both HJ’s Facebook Fan Page (102) as well as LRF’s Facebook Fan Page (966). That adds in an additional $53.40.
Which makes for a grand total donation of $178.60.
It’s not an astounding amount, but it’s not too bad for the biggest little check to come out of the biggest little anniversary bash celebration to ever hit the Net.
THANK YOU
Thank you so much to all of you who helped spread the word about my special mission. I appreciate all of the RTs, shout outs, Her Nashville spreading the word via their daily email newsletter, Better Nashville putting me on the air, and LRF posting it on their website. It was big excitement to see everyone rally behind the #kickcancer cause (as it’s becoming popularly known on Twitter) in this small way.
Also, speaking of LRF, I’d like to extend a special thanks to them and Marion Swan for rallying behind me and lending all of their support and assistance like they did. They certainly helped nab a few more nickles for the cause!
Again, I’m well aware I couldn’t have gotten the amount of Twitter followers I did in such a short time without all the people willing to help me out. So from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much again!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Fantastic contest! You have a heart the size of the known universe. Oh heck, probably the unknown universe as well!
Amazing. You are very creative. I still think this is the best idea for gaining followers and raising money ever.
Thanks, Autumnforest. That was a super nice thing of you to say!
Jessica: Me? Creative? I don’t think so, but I’m glad you do. THANKS!
MarZel: SAY WHAT? WOW! Is this some kind of April Fool’s joke? It wouldn’t be like you, but I gotta check this out…Holy crumb that’s nice of you!
