Halloween costumes for dogs have been around for a while. Halloween costumes for cats, on the other hand, have only started gaining popularity in recent years.
Maybe because have you ever tried dressing a cat?
The little headgear Halloween getups are cute, but I almost lost a hand trying to put one of those on my Mr. Meow once. I’m not about to attempt wrangling him into any kind of full body get up. He knows what the jugular is and he’s not afraid to go for it! I’d like to live through this Halloween, thank you very much.
However, if you have a feline with a higher nonsense tolerance than mine and you’d like to dress your cat up for Halloween, here’s some costumes you might want to consider:
1. Cat Halloween Witch
2. Halloween Devil Cat Costume
I’d so get this for Mr. Meow, since he is such a little devil, but notice how there’s no cat model to show it off? I’m sure he’s laughing somewhere while the human stylist who tried to dress him is recovering in a hospital somewhere…
3. Halloween Vampire Cat Cape
Another fitting one for Mr. Meow. He’s always trying to suck my blood…
4. The Evil One Cat Halloween Costume
This one’s almost too cute to be named “evil”…but I know that it would bring out the evil if I tried to stuff either of my cats in it!
Murphy is laughing at this one. “Bandanas are for dogs, Mom, not cats. You humans can sure be silly sometimes!”
6. Cat from Hell Halloween Costume
Between the costume’s name and the pic that goes with it…’nuff said!
In case you want to turn your cat into a real life Puss ‘N Boots!
8. PETCO Halloween Angel Cat Costume
I quipped on HJ’s Facebook page that there was something wrong with dressing a dog in the Cat in the Hat pet Halloween costume. This cat looks even more miffed to be dressed as a dog –and a cute little puppy at that! (When I Tweeted about the Cat in the Hat costume I joked: “Crossing dressing pets…on the next Springer!” If they could only talk, I’m sure Springer’s producers could really make a show out of such a topic!)
You can find all of the above in the Pets Costumes part of the Halloween section in the the Haunt Jaunts Emporium.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Okay, that is the greatest horror of Halloween! Poor kitties!
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I never thought of it that way…that probably is terrifying stuff at Halloween for cats!
Lmao that’s hilarious, those cats are probably going to kill their owners in their sleep
Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was
a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
Oh dear! Funny story actually. Hope her ear is okay. Thanks for sharing!
