Thanks to our handy Weird Holidays and Observances calendar, we know today, May 3rd, is Paranormal Day.
Last year we threw a party here on Haunt Jaunts for Paranormal Day. We invited others to share their posts for a sort of blog hop. It was fun, but I didn’t get my act together in time to host another one this year.
So what did I do this year? Other than slap words and animations on a couple of graphics? (Including the image at the top of this post, and the YouTube clip below.) Nothing.
But no way can I let this day pass by unnoticed.
Other people posted some fun things for Paranormal Day on social media. I decided that be a fun way to honor the day, by sharing what tickled me most.
So here’s my favorite ways others honored Paranormal Day on…
Wouldn’t be right not to share a ParaNorman something on Paranormal Day would it?
And I’d really be remiss if I didn’t share something Ghostbusters…

This is ours. Didn’t really see anything Paranormal Day-specific that piqued my interest so decided to share this animated graphic I made and uploaded. (If you follow HJ on Instagram, you might’ve also seen this there too.)
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
