Welcome to the first installment of Haunted Headlines, a compilation of spooky stories making the news each week.
Well, except for this first one. (And potentially some in the future, like this coming Friday’s and for weeks when we’re on vacation and such.)
I’ve been saving up some headlines from February 23, 2018 because I decided this was it. I was just going to do it.
About
See, I’ve had this idea for a while to do a news feature, but I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do exactly. And then there was the matter of what to name it.
Recently a friend helped me solve the dilemma of what to call this series that I want to do. Now it’s just a matter of me doing it.
But then I got behind and I didn’t do it. But I don’t want these headlines to go to waste so…
Starting Point
We’ll start here. This week there will be some overlap. Ideally I’d like to post a week’s worth of Haunted Headlines every Friday. (So this coming Friday’s will be everything from March 3, 2018 until March 16, 2018.)
And who knows? There might even be a Haunted Headlines news-style video in the near future too. For those who would prefer to watch something rather than read. (Plus, I’ve been neglecting YouTube again. I’ve got a bunch of things from past trips I want to create videos of, but I have more ideas than time, as usual.)
Okay, so now you sort of have an idea what I’ll be doing. Let’s get this show rolling!
Here are your first Haunted Headlines for the week of February 23, 2018 through March 2, 2018:

*Note: This story was actually published on January 19, 2018, but that was right when I was prepping for the Big Trip so I was off social media from right around then until February 12, when I got back home. I finally saw the post and shared it on HJ’s FB page on March 2, 2018.
Hey Destination America fans who like all the paranormal shows. Remember when you could really get spooked on network TV? I’m talking Paranormal Witness, My Haunted House, Haunted Collector, A Haunting (when they ran lots of episodes in a season, not just three), Ghost Brothers, Haunted Asylum and all those spin-offs of Ghost Hunters. Oh and don’t forget The Haunting of…(you name the celebrity). All those shows are off the air. Most true fans of the genre have seen the reruns at least twice.
Well, guess what? ParaMania Radio is coming to your rescue! Who can resist a show called ‘Heavy Metal Psychic’? Meet the ambassador of dark and paranormal tourism on Haunt Jaunts. And what is Third Eye Lexicon?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
