This has to be one of the biggest news weeks I’ve had since I started doing Haunted Headlines.

And the top of the week (or the top of the Haunted Headlines week anyway, meaning the previous Friday onwards) was slammed with stories. Which is unusual. Usually it’s mid-week when the most stories come in.

Anyway, none of that much matters. Just some random observations I made. I’ll end here so you can start perusing…

A local ghost tour operator named Mike Neff noted that there is a long history of spirits said to reside along the stretch of beach, known as the Grand Strand, that includes Cherry Grove. Although most of them are your run-of-the-mill area legends found in communities across the country, there was one in particular that may be cause for concern to some superstitious South Carolinians: the Grey Man.

Travel Channel is announcing a new show, “Ghost Hunt Live” (working title), a live interactive series featuring a paranormal team that goes to a haunted location and viewers are invited to join the action and drive the course of the show.  The Tennessee Wrath Chasers will use their skills, technology and experiments to try and capture evidence of paranormal activity. The summer months typically mean fun in the sun at the beach, the mountains, amusement parks or poolside sipping fruity drinks while reading the latest Nora Roberts novel.

This scene isn’t for everyone.

Some folks are trading in their sunscreen and hiking boots for flashlights, digital recorders, spirit boxes, thermal cameras and electromagnetic field cameras.
