Welcome to our first Haunted Headlines Weekender edition! As I alluded to in the Haunted Headlines September 7-14, 2018, Halloween season has brought out the paranormal news in hordes.
It makes the posts way too long to try and enjoy –either curating or reading– by waiting to publish them in a weekly compilation.
So, until things settle back down, I’ll just go ahead and post them a little more frequently. Starting with all the news that made headlines this past weekend.
Bone appetit!

Real Life Warren Investigations The Conjuring 3 Should Adapt – Screen Rant
While The Conjuring 3creeps its way towards production, there’s no telling which real life case investigated by Ed and Lorraine Warren the story will focus on. Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson (The Conjuring 2, the upcoming Nightmare on Elm Streetremake) is currently working on the screenplay, but no word on the third entry’s synopsis has been revealed. That said, given the 50-odd years that the Warrens have spent investigating paranormal cases, there is plenty from which the Conjuring’screative team can choose.

In Santa Fe, searching for a ghost and finding enchantment – The Washington Post
I traveled to Santa Fe in July partly to look for a ghost.
Specifically, I was hoping for a glimpse of Julia Staab, a German Jewish bride brought from the old country by her husband, Abraham, in the late 19th century. Julia is believed to haunt the La Posada de Santa Fe Resort and Spa , a grand property off the city’s main plaza where she and her family once lived.
Some seriously spooky goings on were captured on film at The Star Inn, Wroxall, recently bought by Terry and Toni Brennan.

A toolkit to help all ghosts in distress – Sunday Guardian Live
…the field of ghost emotions is known as ‘adfectuspirituality’ or ‘psychological heebiejeebism’ and is one of the fastest growing disciplines in psychology today. Lisa Feldman Barrett and Daniel J. Barrett have pointed out that emotion laboratories worldwide, most notably the newly founded Center for Research on Emotion, Ectoplasm, and Psychological Science (C. R. E. E. P. S.) at the Università del Purgatorio in Milan, Italy, are turning their attention to the incorporeal sciences. To prevent suicides, a toolkit to help communities was released recently by the World Health Organization and the Mental Health Commission of Canada. Perhaps it is time to develop a toolkit to help ghosts in distress and their equally distressed surviving families.

Is Post Malone’s Recent Bad Luck the Result of a Strange Curse Unleashed During His Ghost AdventuresAppearance? – SPIN
It’s no secret that Post Malone has had more than his share of bad luck lately. Last month, the rapper’s plane made an emergency landing after blowing two tires during takeoff, narrowly escaping the scene with his life. After enjoying some much-needed wings, pizza and beer, Posty had yet another run-in with death in the form of a serious car accident in West Hollywood, which left his Rolls Royce in bad shape, but the rapper—against all odds—completely unscathed. Earlier this week, Post cheated death yet again as the target of a recent home invasion, where three men broke into his former residence in hopes of robbing the 23-year-old musician. But while he may or may not be getting “Final Destinationed,” is it possible that Post Malone might just be the latest victim of a very old, very strange curse dating back to the Holocaust?

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
