Haunting 2022 Nonfiction New Releases Inspire New Skareporium Shelf

Five haunting nonfiction book cover releases 2022
These books inspired the creation of a new Skareporium “shelf.”

This year is no different than any other. Several of my writer friends have released haunting new nonfiction in 2022. I’d of course love to show my support by buying and reading them all. However, constraints on both time and money don’t make that realistically possible.

Of course, I can always share or RT their posts about it on social media to show support too. And where applicable I can also do interviews. Both of which I did yesterday.

Brandon Alvis and Mustafa Gatollari graciously spared some time to discuss their forthcoming series, Haunted Discoveries, and their book that was released earlier this year, Elements of a Haunting: Connecting History with Science to Uncover the Greatest Ghost Stories Ever Told. (The video and post of the chat coming soon.)

Then on Twitter, I noticed author Michelle Hamilton had just released a new book too, Virginia’s Haunted History. I gladly RT’d her post about that with my congratulations.

But then anything Virginia always makes me think of another paranormal writer friend, Pamela K. Kinney, who’s based in that state and has written several books about all of its haunted places. She also recently released a new book, Werewolves, Dogmen, and other Shapeshifters Stalking North America.

And then what about my good friend Emz, the horror hostess with the mostest at HorrorAddicts.net? The book she edited and released this year, Horror Addicts Guide to Life 2, even includes three of my stories. But have I done any promo for that? Not really, no. #Shameful!

And then there’s the hardworking and dedicated paranormal women’s rights advocate Amanda Woomer, who’s created a line of Feminine Macabre anthologies. Volume III was released earlier this year. (And she’s already hard at work on Volum IV!)

Those were just the first five 2022 haunting nonfiction releases that popped to my head. But how do I show these authors (as well as any others I remember or come across) some love and support? Without appearing as either too pushy a salesman or a creepy fan girl, that is.

Well, writing is one way, so here I am, but amazingly that wasn’t the first way that popped to mind. Adding them to a section of the Skareporium was, but to an existing one or a new one? I hate to admit this has stumped me for quite a while. Or did. Yesterday the lightbulb finally went off.

“Duh! Why not create a Haunting Nonfiction New Releases 2022 shelf in the Skareporium?”

It seems like such an obvious answer now, but it’s one that’s literally taken me a couple of years to formulate.

Anyway, it’s done now.

And, yes, since I’m an Amazon Associate, I do earn from qualifying purchases. Which I’m always very grateful for. As stated on the Affiliates page, this is one of the ways I pay for hosting fees and site maintenance. But any extra could help me afford more books. Then my only other problem would be finding enough time to read them all!
