When Haunted Gold Rush premiered last year on Canada’s T+E (basically, the equivalent of Travel Channel), it busted a paranormal glass ceiling. It was the first mainstream ghost-hunting show featuring an all-female cast. This year, Corine Carey, Leanne Sallenback, and Kelly Ireland return with History’s Most Haunted, a new series premiering on Friday, September 8th at 10 p.m. ET/PT on T+E.
The cool thing about this all-female paranormal investigative team is they also all have different abilities. Ones that complement each other. They’re also best friends and sisters. It’s a dynamic that allows them to be their authentic selves on camera, which many viewers find refreshing.
In History’s Most Haunted, Corine, Leanne, and Kelly visit Montreal, Newfoundland, Salem, New Orleans, Charleston, and San Antonio. They reach out and connect with historical figures, many of whom died through war, criminal sentences, diseases, disasters, and other horrible deaths. Don’t be surprised if some notable names are mentioned.
I know the first question U.S. viewers will have: “When will we be able to watch it in the U.S.?”
I wish I had a better answer than “I don’t know.”
However, be sure to check out the Check-In question below. Maybe we could start a petition to expedite the process of getting it to air in the States?
History’s Most Haunted Synopsis
History’s Most Haunted follows paranormal experts Corine Carey, Leanne Sallenback, and Kelly Ireland as they travel across North America, meeting with those who have come face-to-face with the unknown. The trio are on a mission to unlock a deeper understanding of the hauntings that take place in the world-famous locations they visit. Featuring stylized, cinematic dramatizations of eyewitness accounts, coupled with rich context provided by experts, historians, and locals, Corine, Leanne, and Kelly will bridge the gap between past and present in a fresh new way. The documentary series shows how paranormal investigations can enrich people’s understanding of history by giving voices to the spirits of those who lived it.

If there was a petition to get Travel Channel to carry Haunted Gold Rush or Hisotry’s Most Haunted, would you sign it?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
I caught their Gold Rush episodes on Haunt TV recently. If you have a Samsung smart TV with that wonderful built in network of channels, you can watch it and other goodies on their paranormal channels. I’m hoping they will show this new stuff there, too, eventually.
Haunt TV!!! That’s I think somehow affiliated with T+E! Or a way for their content to be shown in the US? I don’t really know or understand how all that works, but I remember once upon a time writing about Haunt TV was available to US viewers. This is awesome to know Haunted Gold Rush was there and you saw it AND how to access. Always grateful for your comments, but this one is especially helpful. WHOOP! THANKS, Maria!!!
I’ve seen some dubbed international programs on those paranormal channels on Samsung TV. It’s pretty cool when there’s nothing else on.
Oh wow! I’m going to see if we can get that. Our bedroom TV is Samsung. I’d love to check out an international show or two to see how they do things. THNAKS for this tip, Maria!
It’s called Samsung TV Plus. So many channels to play around with.
Ah! Okay we don’t have one of those. Also, ours is old. It still has some apps but has removed a bunch over the years too. Maybe that’s why I can’t find HauntTV. lol
Yeah, it comes with the newer TV sets, the internet ready ones. We watch YouTubeTV these days as well. It costs less than cable generally. You just need the best wifi you can afford.
More good info to know. THANKS for sharing all you know. We’ve resisted getting YouTubeTV so far but may have to check into what it offers and see if we can consolidate and get rid of some other things elsewhere.
There a couple of hiccups now and then, for instance, we can’t watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer via YouTubeTV because of licensing, but since Mom signed up for Paramount we probably can watch it live this year. (Before I would just dig out our dvd and play that.) But it has a bottomless DVR, although it holds programs/movies for 9 months only, but if it’s something that repeats fairly often, it’ll get refreshed in your library. Mom tagged Law & Order for recording and now she has nearly every season they’ve ever shown to watch. You can pause a program and rewind, etc. You can also organize your channels so that your favorites can be at the top of the listings. I’m not sure we’ll ever go back to cable or even satellite TV.
Oooo! Okay so a couple of things: YAY about the heads up that Paramount is the place to find Rudolph! That’s one of my all-time favorites (as I’m sure it is for most folks, especially of a certain generation). Sometimes our CBS channel doesn’t come in with our antenna so I don’t always have a way to watch it. But now I know where to look for it!
Second, that is some super handy advice about how you can use YouTube. Sometimes they offer a free trial. (Or maybe they always do.) I’ll have to take advantage this winter when I’m back to watching more TV and give it a shot. We ditched cable years ago and only stream, but I have noticed some of what I like to watch on other streamers is also on YT. So if I could get rid of a couple of those and consolidate… Anyway, just really glad you shared all this. Handy and helpful! THANK YOU!
