For some, the end of the year or the start of a new one signifies a time of renewal, a time to make changes. For others, spring is the time to clean up and put a fresh face on things. For me, it’s Fall.
I’ve been wanting to freshen up HJ’s theme for a while now. I needed two things that had been evading me:
- Time
- A theme I liked
Late last week I finally found both, and well…voila. Your eyes are (hopefully) feasting on the new theme. Nothing fancy. I wanted functional and practical.
Which I sort of got…and sort of didn’t. There are some things I have to do with this theme. Posts don’t fully show up unless I select a certain setting. I know how to do that manually when I create new posts. I don’t know how to retro-fit it for older posts yet so…it may take me a while to make sure all posts are fully readable. (But I am aware of this hiccup.)
The other thing I’ve been wanting to do is create a fresh new Haunt Jaunts trailer. Why a blog needs a trailer, I don’t know. (But I’ve done a couple in the past. See here and here. Ignore the deja vu you may experience reading those posts. They’re eerily similar to this one…)
However, I have a fun movie making program on my computer and have been itching to play with it some more.
Okay, maybe “play” is the wrong word. More like practice.
“Practice for what?” you may be wondering.
Great question!
I plan to make a lot more videos to put on YouTube. Well, not plan. Planned is more like it.
I’ve been meaning to edit jaunt footage for a while, post them to YouTube, and tie them into Movie Mondays, but…like so many of my bright ideas they go unrealized.
Until I get off my kiester and put my rear in gear that is.
Which I’m trying to do now. Hey, better late than never. Isn’t that how the saying goes?
Anyway, take a look at the new promo. Let me know what you think. Love it? Hate it? Don’t give a shit? All feedback is welcome! Except for that from spambots, which always gets deleted. But if you’re a real person with a real opinion, share it! Always love to hear from readers…or perhaps viewers in this case.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Interesting little video. Love the carved pumpkins at the end.
Thanks for taking the time to watch it and leave this comment, John.
