Guess what season it is? Still Winter, technically. Ha! Did I getcha?
Seriously though, I can tell Spring is drawing near. Lately I’m seeing more and more horror and paranormal events being advertised, something that’s sort of dead in Winter (pun intended).
Here’s the ones I’ve seen so far. If they had a logo, I’ve included those as well. If I learn of other events as the year progresses, I’ll make another list. For now, here’s the horror and paranormal events and conferences I’m aware of so far. Hope this aids in your haunted events travel planning.
1. March 9 -11, 2012 Texas Paranormal Unity Fest 2012 – Red Rock, Texas
2. March 9 – 10, 2012 GhoStock*: Sedamsville Rectory – Cincinatti, Ohio
*Note: GhoStock events are part of Patrick Burns (star of TruTV’s Haunting Evidence and a recurring guest judge on the Travel Channel’s Paranormal Challenge. He is also the co-author of The Other Side: A Teen’s Guide to Ghost Hunting and the Paranormal) and Marley Gibson’s (YA author, Patrick’s wife, and co-author of The Other Side) Haunted Highways Tour. There are actually a couple of events before this one that haven’t happened yet, but soon will. However, they’re already sold out. I suggest if you want to do any of the others scheduled for this year, don’t delay. Tickets most definitely don’t last.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Interesting that these are so developed, I guess even if you did not believe in it it would be amusing to go see.
Oh, it can be SUPER amusing, Ayngelina! You should see some of the costumes people arrive in. Some put SO much time and effort. It’s awe-inspiring how dedicated some fans really are.
Great list of paranormal events. I had no idea there were so many. There is also the Maritime Ghost Conference, September 15, 2012 in San Diego, CA.
Hey Christie! Funny you mention the Maritime Ghost Conference. I added it to a second list of 5 more conferences I came across (including that one). https://www.hauntjaunts.net/2012/03/15/5-more-horror-and-paranormal-conferences-and-events/
Wish we had this in South Africa!!!
