Thanksgiving’s looming, Christmas is on the horizon, but are you missing all the horror and spookiness that Halloween has to offer? You know what I’m talking about. It’s the one time of the year when it’s okay to embrace our creepiness to the fullest. No judgments.
Are you missing that?
If you answered “YES!” (just like that; screaming all caps with an exclamation point and everything), and you’re a little depressed by all the shiny brightness that’s forced down our throats at the end of the year, then you may be suffering from a “holidaze.”
Help
Take heart. There are others out there like you. They not only feel your pain, they want to help do something about it.
Like our friends over at HorrorAddicts.net.
Their podcast season officially ended when Halloween did, but this year they did something extra. Their fans asked, “Help! How do we make it through until next Halloween?” HorrorAddicts.net responded by putting together a “Cure for the Holidaze Special!”
The Hostess with the Mostest
HorrorAddicts.net Horror Hostess Emerian Rich, a.k.a. Emz, is one of our favorite people around here. If you haven’t heard her on our radio show (she’s been a guest a couple of times), or caught her hosting her Horror Addicts show, you have to give her a listen. Her voice is phenomenal, as is her energy. She uses it all to create a very entertaining show!
The Cure for the Holidaze special addresses post-Halloween depression and the horrors of the holidays. Emz –joined by Dan Shaurette, Ariel DaWintre, and Camellia Rains– share personal stories of their funniest (and not so funny) holiday and gift stories, talk about great horror movies to watch during the season, and upcoming horror movies to look forward to. They also welcome special guests (including myself), and play some awesome music in between all the segments.
My favorite part is their Top 10 Gifts for Horror Lovers. Number one is priceless. Literally. (Spoiler Alert: It’s taking a horror loving friend out for lunch, dinner, a drink, whatever you can afford, and spend time talking horror with them. Love it!)
Truly, the Cure for the Holidaze special is great. You’ll want to listen to it again and again. It will get you through the holiday season. You have my money back guarantee if you don’t enjoy it.
Check. It. Out.

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
