Fever, the company that curates interesting events worldwide, has a new one for horror fans. It’s called Icons of Darkness: The Exhibition, and it just opened in Hollywood, California. The guided walking tour takes visitors through a collection of horror and sci-fi costumes and props from the biggest horror and sci-fi movies.
But it’s not just any collection. Secret Los Angeles explained the items on display in Icons of Darkness are from director, actor, and producer Rich Correll’s private collection —one of the largest of its kind. Correll himself is really interesting. He’s been in “the biz” for over 50 years. It wasn’t horror, where he got his start, but rather a wholesome sitcom you’ve surely heard of, Leave It to Beaver. He appeared as Richard Rickover, one of the Beave’s friends.
For the majority of his career since, he’s been behind the camera. And most of the shows he’s directed (over 700 episodes!) were on the same spectrum as Leave It to Beaver, meaning wholesome, including Disney hits like The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Hannah Montana.
However, he clearly loves horror and sci-fi since he’s amassed this tremendous collection that is now open for the public to see. But it won’t be available indefinitely. Let’s take a closer look at what Icons of Darkness: The Exhibition is all about.

Check-In
It would be cool to see a movie where all these pieces from iconic horror and sci-fi movies came to life. Kind of like Night at the Museum. Agree or disagree?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
It would be awesome to see a movie with all these iconic pieces in it!
Agreed, agreed, agreed!
Oh, wow!
