How will a Paranormal Activity series translate to the small screen?

If 2021 has started off as the year of The Cecil Hotel and “Night Stalker” Richard Ramirez, 2022 may be the year of Paranormal Activity. Recently I wrote about a new Paranormal Activity movie in the works with a target release date of Mar. 4, 2022. But now I keep seeing buzz about a Paranormal Activity series in the works for Paramount+.

After a couple of comments on a post about Ghost Brothers: Lights Out, a new series launching on discovery+ in April, I know some of you are suffering from streamer fatigue. The last thing you want is another one to subscribe to —no matter what exclusive content they may offer on it.

Amen!

But, in case you’re a diehard Paranormal Activity franchise fan and want to know more about the possible Paranormal Activity series, here’s what we know so far.

Paranormal Activity Series Release Date

First off, I was mistaken in what I was seeing. Or, rather, comprehending.

It’s not an episodic Paranormal Activity series releasing on Paramount+. It would actually be the movie that’s due out in 2022.

Do we know what Paranormal Activity 7 will be about yet?

Plot details are still under wraps. All we know is that Christopher Landon (who wrote Happy Death Day and Paranormal Activities 2 through 4) will write this one too, and that Jason Blum and Oren Peli will again produce. Steven Schneider also returns as an executive producer.

We don’t have any idea which actors will be involved yet though.

We Got This Covered offered some interesting plot ideas though. They’re hoping it’ll either be a sort of prequel to “explore the original hauntings” and what set them in motion. Or perhaps “a fake documentary show that sets out to analyze what ‘really’ happened” during the original film.

Lots of possibilities with either. Even though I’m not a fan of the franchise and I’m not planning on subscribing to Paramount+, I have to admit I am curious to learn what the plot will be. What about you?
