As you may or may not know, one of May’s Weird Holidays & Observances is May 4th, Stars Wars Day. (And in case you’re like my husband and don’t get it: May Fourth…May the Force…a bit of a play on words. Sound it out. It took me a while to get it the first time, too. I’m not sure my hub even still does. All I know is whoever originally drew the connection is super clever.)
Anyways, as I was updating the Paracons & Horror Fests page the other day, I drew a connection of my own: There are two Cryptid Cons, specifically Bigfoot ones, on May 4th this year. (BTW: May is the most popular month overall for cryptid cons, and three of the four of them are Bigfoot-centered.)
It struck me as funny that May 4th was the date for two of them. The idea of the Force being with Bigfoot instantly popped in my head, and I figured, “What a perfect post title.”
Although, maybe it’s not such a coincidence? After all, Chewbacca might be some sort of Bigfoot relation…
Don’t know. (But don’t you wish Bigfoot was like Chewy? How cool would that be?)
At any rate, if you’re interested in checking them out, here are the events where you can spend Star Wars Day with Bigfoot:

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
