Fan of AMC’s The Walking Dead? Want more of that type of genre? You’re in luck! Apparently production has begun on AMC’s newest installment: Fear the Walking Dead.
Fear the Walking Dead is made by the same people responsible for The Walking Dead and will be a “companion series” airing Summer of 2015.
If you’re a diehard TWD fan you’ve likely already heard. I love the show but wouldn’t call myself a diehard fan. (Clearly, since I only knew about all this from a Tweet I happened to see today about production being underway.)
According to the show’s executive producers, Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, if you don’t watch The Walking Dead, no problem. Fear the Walking Dead “tell[s] it’s own story.” Yet it still brings that TWD feel those who have watched know and love. (Click this link to listen to them talking about it: http://www.amc.com/shows/fear-the-walking-dead/video-extras/production-begins-on-fear-the-walking-dead.)
Also different, Fear the Walking Dead will be set on the west coast (Los Angeles) instead of the South (primarily Georgia). If FTWD is also a hit, I expect it won’t be long before zombie tours pop up there similar to the Atlanta Zombie Film Locations Tour from Viator.
Check out the teaser and see what you think. Do you dig it too? I’ll for sure be watching!

Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
I love the walking dead!
