This year Autumn brings more than just cooler temperatures and changing leaves; it also brings a host of scary TV shows. Two are series continuations, but there’s one that’s a newbie to the Fall lineup.

666 PARK AVENUE – Series premiere Sunday September 30 10/9c on ABC

On our layover in LAX on our way home from San Fran, I saw this billboard for 666 Park Avenue while we were on the tarmac.

When we went to San Francisco, I kept seeing ads for a new show that I had not heard of before but that immediately caught my eye: 666 Park Avenue. Terry O’Quinn was one of the reasons my radar locked on to it. Loved him in Lost, naturally, but he’s been a fave of mine since The Stepfather. (The 1987 version, aka the original.)

Here’s the description of the show from IMDB:

If you could make one wish, what would it be? And what would you do to get it? At 666 Park Avenue, all of your dreams and burning desires can come true: wealth, sex, love, power, even revenge. But just be careful what you wish for, because the price you pay… could be your soul. Welcome to The Drake, the premiere apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Owned by the mysterious Gavin Doran (Terry O’Quinn – Lost) and his sexy wife Olivia (Vanessa Williams – Desperate Housewives), The Drake is home to dozens of residents who are unaware they’re living in the dark embrace of supernatural forces. They think their dreams are all coming true, only to find they’ve been lured into making, what feels like, a deal with the Devil. When a young Mid-western couple – Jane Van Veen (Rachael Taylor – Charlie’s Angels, Grey’s Anatomy) and Henry Martin (Dave Annable – Brothers & Sisters) – is hired to manage The Drake, they soon discover that evil, obsession, and manipulation has a home. Allow yourself to be seduced by 666 PARK AVENUE, and unravel the mysteries of this devilish new drama from Alloy Entertainment (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars) and executive producers David Wilcox (Fringe, Life on Mars), Leslie Morgenstein (Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries) and Gina Girolamo (The Secret Circle, The Lying Game).

WALKING DEAD – Sunday October 14 9/8c on AMC

I remember being a little bit disappointed with the end of Season 1 of The Walking Dead. It ended too fast. I wasn’t ready for it to go off. I wanted more!

Then Season 2 started and was off to a good start, then sort of dragged a smidge, and then…WHAM! Punch you in the gut cliffhanger ending. Like other Dead fans, I am really excited that the wait for this scary TV show to get back on the air is almost over. (And am very glad I’m not a Dish subscriber.)

The new season looks AMAZING! Here’s a nice long teaser trailer to whet your appetite:

AMERICAN HORROR STORY: ASYLUM – Wednesday October 17 10/9c on FX

Like anyone else who watched American Horror Story last year (including my husband, who doesn’t like scary TV shows), I was hooked from minute one of this superbly acted and brilliantly written show/mini-series/”cult classic.” I had no idea how they’d continue it. Turns out, they’re choosing not to. Not exactly.

They’ve said goodbye to the Harmon family and the haunted house they’re now forever trapped in and are taking us to Briarcliff, a mental institution loaded with aliens, Nazis, and nuns…oh my!

There are some original American Horror Story characters and cast members I’ll miss, but I’m psyched to see Jessica Lange (who won a well-deserved Emmy for her work on AHS) back for Asylum.

Here’s a few teaser trailers you might enjoy:
