The marathon consists of their top series and hit documentaries, including Chapelwaite, FROM, Blumhouse’s Compendium of Horror, Amityville: An Origin Story, and Psycho: The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein. Below, you’ll find a guide to the timelines and episodes.
MGM+ Halloween Marathon Lineup
Chapelwaite

Episodes: 101-105
Noteworthy: The series is based on the short story “Jerusalem’s Lot” by Stephen King.
Series Description: Set in the 1850s, Chapelwaite follows Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacher’s Corners, Maine, after his wife dies at sea. However, Charles will soon have to confront the secrets of his family’s sordid history and fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.
Ratings: IMDb 7.2/10, Rotten Tomatoes 60%, liked by 71% of Google users
FROM
Time: 11:00 AM ET/PT – 3:40 PM ET/PT
Episodes: 201-205
Series Description: FROM unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down. In season two, hidden truths about the nature and terrifying origins of the town begin to emerge, even as life for its residents is plunged into chaos by the arrival of mysterious newcomers.
Ratings: IMDb 7.7/10, Rotten Tomatoes 94%, liked by 87% of Google users
Comments: FROM is one of my favorite shows. It’s got that same kind of “what in the heck is going on/where are these people?” LOST-esque mystery with creepy AF monsters stalking the town’s residents at night. Like season 1 did, season 2 ended with a huge cliffhanger. That’s why I’m among the fans happy it got renewed for a season 3.
Blumhouse’s Compendium of Horror
Time: 11:00 AM ET/PT – 3:40 PM ET/PT
Episodes: 101-105
Series Description: Blumhouse’s Compendium of Horror is the definitive take on the horror genre. Through shocks and scares from our favorite iconic horror moments, the series reflects how American society, and us, the audience, have evolved alongside the cherished and significant horror films of our time.
Ratings: IMDb 6.8/10, Rotten Tomatoes no data, no Google users data
Amityville: An Origin Story
Time: 11:00 AM ET/PT – 3:40 PM ET/PT
Episodes: 101-104
Series Description: Amityville: An Origin Story tells the story behind the world’s most infamous haunted house tale: the Amityville murders. The project is the first elevated look at every aspect of this wildly layered story about the heinous murder of a family of six that became eclipsed by paranormal controversy.
The 1979 blockbuster film, The Amityville Horror, inspired by the book of the same title by Jay Anson, spawned an ever-expanding universe of movies, books, supernatural theories, and horror superfans. But the mass murder behind the hauntings—and its alleged ties to organized crime—left a long trail of questions that have never been fully explored.
Rooted in the dark cultural undercurrents of the 1970s, the series features firsthand accounts from witnesses, family members, and former investigators appearing on-camera for the first time. Exclusive archival footage, newly unearthed images, and stunning original photography are woven together into the most compelling and comprehensive telling of the Amityville story yet, taking viewers on a heart-pounding roller coaster ride through the mythology, factual record, and devastating human toll of this notorious meta-narrative.
Ratings: IMDb 6.6/10, Rotten Tomatoes 86%, liked by 73% of Google users
Comments: Amityville: An Origin Story was brilliant. There have been a few other Amityville documentaries, but none as thoughtfully and respectfully done, thorough, or definitive as this four-part docuseries. That’s why it should be the last such doc on the subject. (But I doubt it will be.)
Psycho: The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein
Time: 11:00 AM ET/PT – 3:40 PM ET/PT
Episodes:
Series Description: The MGM+ original docuseries Psycho: The Lost Tapes of Ed Gein examines the story of the horrifying grave robber and serial killer Ed Gein, otherwise known as “The Plainfield Ghoul” and “The Mad Butcher.” His crimes infamously inspired such iconic films as Psycho, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and The Silence of the Lambs.
For years, filmmakers, journalists, and scholars have tried to unravel the mind of this notorious killer, and with new reveals and never-before-heard recordings, viewers will be transported to late-1950s Middle America and submerged in Gein’s perverse mind. The series explores Gein’s upbringing and twisted relationship with his mother (which famously inspired Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho), his early grave robbing, the murders leading up to his arrest, and the police’s discovery of his terrifying house of horrors—all accompanied by the brand-new revelations revealed in the recordings.
Ratings: IMDb 5.7/10, Rotten Tomatoes no data, liked by 82% of Google users

Have you seen any of these shows? If not, which interests you most?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Doncha just love October programming?
I haven’t heard of FROM, but it sounds like a fantastic, creepy, horror show!
(Somehow I got logged out and now I keep getting asked to log in.)
YES! But holy cow there’s so much of it and it triggers my FOMO! lol
OMG it’s super good, Vera! I want to say season 1 was playing somewhere another friend was able to watch without a MGM+ subscription. I warned her some parts are a little gory (I know she doesn’t like those), but she still totally loved it. I’d love to hear your thoughts if you ever saw it.
Uh oh. Are the ghosts in the machine acting up again?
