I liked the Halloween Hatchlings game so much, I jaunted around the Internet to find some other fun online Halloween games. After all, what’s a Halloween party like the one we’re participating in with fiberdoodles without games?
I think I’ve found something for just about every kind of game playing taste: trivia, puzzler, adventure/action, and strategy. All Halloween-related.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get them to load up on this post for your playing convenience. However, all these links will take you directly to the playing fields! Have fun!
(Note: Be patient through the ads. Since the site I found them on offers these games for free, they have to try and get their money somehow, which means once in a while an ad pops up.)
CARVE A PUMPKIN
Actually, I have to blame the Domesticated Gypsy for starting all this game playing. I saw her Carve Your Pumpkin! entry where she had posted a virtual pumpkin to carve right there on her blog and had so much fun carving a pumpkin (or two) that I wanted to bring some fun like that to my readers.
So I checked out Widgetbox (where she’d gotten the pumpkin) and tried to post some of their Halloween game widgets here, but for some reason they won’t show up. (That’s why all the links I’m about to share.)
But go check out her blog if you want to carve a pumpkin. She’s got it all set up for you and there’s no mess or muck to clean up!
TRIVIA
Halloween Trivia Champ – This was the game I really wanted to post directly on my blog. (I love trivia!) But I found out I’m no Halloween Trivia Champ. I scored 14 out of 22 for a total of 163 points. That’s 64%. Boo! How well can you do?
PUZZLES
Halloween Picture Puzzle – Like puzzles? Use your cursor to place the puzzle pieces in their right places to form the Jack-o-Lantern picture.
Halloween Jigsaw Puzzle – If you really like jigsaw puzzles, this one is much more advanced than the first one I shared.
STRATEGY
Deathmatch – A Halloweeny-Tetris like game! Arrange the skulls as they come down into matching sections of three or more to make them dissolve so they don’t stack up. It’s not good I know of this game. These kinds are my favorite!
Tricky Treats – A Halloweeny-Bejeweled like game! Create links of three or more by swapping out the Halloween candy. The sound effects with this one are great! Cats screeching, a witch cackling, eerie moans and screams…total Halloween fun!
Pumpkin Sweeper – Good at Minesweeper? Then you’ll like this one. Except it’s rotten green pumpkins that’ll blow you up if you find them, so…don’t!
ACTION/ARCADE
Cat Bowling – There’s a witch hovering on her broom over the alley she’s set up for you. The object? Knock down the cat pins with your pumpkin bowling ball. Hard! (Throw using the space bar…took me forever to figure that out.)
Happy Halloween – A better name for this one would have been Chuck a Pumpkin. Throw pumpkins at the ghouls before they get you.
Midnight Massacre – You’re auditioning for a horror movie, except you know it’s not a normal audition when they hand you a gun and tell you you might need it. A fun shoot the monster legends of the silver screen game!
Monster Bash – Like whack-a-mole, except with monsters popping out of a haunted house. Oh, and you use your cursor instead of a mallet to test your reflexes.
Zombie Canyon – Kind of simplistic, but if you’re in the mood to test your trigger finger, trying to aim for and hit the zombies escaping from the canyon proved much harder than I thought it would!
JUST A TREAT
Halloween Gift Box – This one’s not a game, it’s just a gift that all you other ghost enthusiasts will appreciate once you unwrap it!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
