I saw an ad on Facebook that said something to the effect “Like haunted house movies?” Of course that caught my eye. I clicked through and discovered the page for 7 Below.

The next thing to catch my eye was Ving Rhames. (Loved him in so many things, but most especially Dawn of the Dead. I have crushed on him hard ever after.)

Another actor I used to crush on who I was surprised to see in this was Val Kilmer. I don’t even remember the last movie I saw him in. I know a lot of my girlfriends growing up swooned over Ice Man from Top Gun, but I was a late Val Kilmer fan. It wasn’t until The Ghost and the Darkness and The Saint that watching him made my heart skip a beat.

Anyway, 7 Below looks interesting. Since it skipped theaters (or didn’t come to any near me at any rate) and went straight to DVD, I’m thinking this movie might not be super. But it’s a scary movie set in a haunted house starring two actors I dig so…I’ll most likely give it a try.

7 Below releases to DVD on April 17, 2012.

Did this hit a theater near you? Does it look like one you’ll want to watch also?
