A couple of weeks back when we went to see The Hunger Games, we saw a preview for Battleship. I’d seen the movie posters before that. They’d referenced, “Based on the Hasbro game.” Or something to that effect.
Well, when I think of Battleship the game, I think of the catchphrase from the commercials that used to play when I was a kid: “You sank my battleship!”
Naturally I assumed judging from the game itself and the image on the poster that the movie had something to do with war. I didn’t figure on a War of the Worlds at sea kind of creation.
It appears it’s striving to be one of those over-the-top Hollywood special effect summer blockbusters (which can either be great or awful). However, aliens rising up from the ocean’s depths and attacking us earthlings with battleships as our first line of defense? I’m kind of digging the storyline I see from the trailer. What about you?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
