OMG! OMG! OMG! I love when movie clips like the one for Grave Encounters come to my attention.

The film’s producer, Shawn Angelski, actually shared it with me himself. Don’t know how he found me, but I am SO happy he did. This movie looks freaking great!

Here’s the analogy that first came to mind: Grave Encounters is like a combo of a Ghost Hunters/Ghost Adventures type of show mixed with Paranormal Activity and Blair Witch Project.

Here’s the premise:

Lance Preston and the crew of “Grave Encounters”, a ghost-hunting reality television show, are shooting an episode inside the abandoned Collingwood Psychiatric Hospital, where unexplained phenomena has been reported for years.

All in the name of good television, they voluntarily lock themselves inside the building for the night and begin a paranormal investigation, capturing everything on camera.

They quickly realize that the building is more than just haunted – it is alive – and it has no intention of ever letting them leave. They find themselves lost in a labyrinth maze of endless hallways and corridors, terrorized by the ghosts of the former patients.

They soon begin to question their own sanity, slipping deeper and deeper into the depths of madness, ultimately discovering the truth behind the hospital’s dark past…and taping what turns out to be their final episode.

The footage is finally being revealed to the public after being hidden for six years. I gotta say, if I was ever investigating anywhere and ran into the “patient” at the end of the clip? Well, let’s just say I don’t know what would happen first. I’d either mess myself major or drop the camera and scram or both at the same time. If I didn’t have a flipping heart attack and die instantly right there and then, that is.

Here’s the clip. Don’t know when Grave Encounters will be released, but this is one I’m most definitely looking forward to. Hope it gives you chills and gets you as excited with anticipation as it did me.

  1. Wow, a ghost hunters worst nightmare, the place they are investigating comes alive! I will do extensive research on next place I go to, lol.

That’s a good way to put it, Julie! And you better be careful jaunting around with that Autumnforest! If anyone can find a spooky place it’s her!!!!!!! (Especially if she brings Dale along. That doll just has to be a creepy magnet!)

  3. it seems like a combo of Paranormal Activity & Ghost Adventurers and definitely has potential. by the way, is it just me or is Zak’s hair completely out of control lately? it was never good, but it’s like WHAAAAT now.

  4. Wow! That really had a Blair Witch meets Paranormal Activity feel. That would be a blast to see. It doesn’t look as lame as Paranormal Activity which I thought was miserable. I’ll definitely give it a look-see.

  5. Yes, it is WAY better than Paranormal Activity, and I’m not just saying that because I Produced it… People who have seen the movie tell us that every time. It is very scary, and also very entertaining… Hope you can all see it very soon 🙂

    Thanks for spreading the word!

  11. i know im a little late on your comment but i’m from missouri and grew up 25min away from “zombie road” and i got arrested along with 4 other friends for walking it at night. walked it many other times before that and nothing ever happened. all fake, even cops said it was a spoof that the guys made a fortune on. cops have arrested close to 1,000 people for trespassing on zombie road at night

  12. Good grief! You got arrested? Couldn’t they have just given you a warning or a ticket or something? Sheesh. Still, it’s interesting to hear you were there. Just sorry you got busted. 🙁

  13. Honestly, i love this movie, it is freaking amazing. I must say i am quite the Horror Film fanatic, as is most my family, and i have been searching for a great horror film for a long, long time, and just as i began to think there were none from this generation, and never would be, i stumbled upon Grave Encounters. I don’t think i have ever been so terrified in my life, and i must state that compared to movies like Paranormal Activity, this beats those by far. I have officially found my new favorite movie, and will continue to watch it, and probably share it, with my entire family for a long while. The director did great, although i must say he could have added a lot more gore, but the movie itself is so creepy, i over look the blood and guts spilled. Only one way to say this, I love Grave Encounters, it is by far the best.

THANKS so much for sharing your thoughts, Danielle. SUPER excited to see this one myself. Your review just makes me want to see it more!

  15. I absolutely LOVE scary movies!!! The last movie I saw that actually really scared me was that movie “Paranormal Entity”….that movie scared the crap out of me!! I enjoyed “Paranormal activity” the first one but did not scare me at all…the second one was a little scarier and the trailer for the third looks pretty scary. I’ve been looking for a good one to watch that I haven’t seen in awhile and I came across “Grave Encounters” Im going to trust the opinions of the public and give it a shot…Its been quite awhile since I was scared from a movie so this will be awesome if this movie is real good!

Kelley, you’ll have to let me know what you thought. I still haven’t watched it yet. I want to watch it through Amazon instant play, but time hasn’t been available yet… Like you, I sure hope it’s as good as people say and as the trailer’s make it appear to be.

  17. stumbled across this movie and it was actually very interesting and kept u on edge.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You’re the first person I’ve heard who’s actually seen it. I keep meaning to watch and still have not taken the time yet…but you’ve now reignited my desire to!

  19. Is this movie based on real story?

  20. Author

I don’t think so, but I’m not positive about that, John. I’m not sure it’s just made up.

  21. was this real or both fantasy and reality where they meet in the middle because they all die and if they are dead in real life then how is it possible not to find the funerals I am very confused good movie but very confused about the whole situation Can some one help me not be confused thank you

  22. I really enjoyed the movie Grave Encounters! It kept me on the edge of my seat because, it had the feel of a true story, and the shock value of a real horror movie! I couldn’t stand the Blair Witch Project due to the fact that every scene seemed planned out. I havn’t seen Paranormal Activity for the same reason after I saw the previews! Grave Encounters interested me because when I was a teenager, I used to go do places where I headr/thought were haunted. There was one called the Byberry Institute outside of Philadelphia off of RT 1 south on Byberry road. The look and feel of that place gave everybody I knew who hung out there, gave them the creeps! I have been in there a few times, it is abandon, and has it’s stories! There’s a rubber room, walls with blood on them most likely mixed with Iodine, straight jackets, etc! It is worth checking if you want a good scare! I assume it’s still standing, havn’t been there in about 20 years! It’s right near a Nabisco Factory! Would make a great location for another sequal!! Thanx for reading!
