Okay, so Playback stunk, but here’s two other movies that look good and which I’m looking forward to.
ParaNorman
I loved Coraline. The makers of it have made this one. It’s more for kids, but that’s okay. My inner child likes to be indulged every once in a while.
The Raven
John Cusack as Edgar Allen Poe? Normally I might not be so intrigued, but the premise of this movie finds Poe’s stories having inspired a killer…and Poe trying to catch him before he strikes too close to home.
Looks like it might be fun. I’m also nuts about the time period so any time I can get a movie set in it, I’m psyched.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
I love movies but of the two I will probably only go see The Raven. It does indeed look interesting and slightly scary!
If I went to see them in the theater, for sure The Raven would be the one I’d pop for. Since we don’t get out much, I’ll likely Red Box both, but…if the Raven’s available 1st, it’ll be the one I rent first. 😉 Thx for the comment, Debbie!
