It has been a loooong time since I had anything to post for Movie Monday, but today I finally do: the Tontine Massacre.
I happened to spot the ad for it this afternoon on my very own blog. I was coming to use my handy blog exchange buttons to click through to get the link for Mommy D’s Weekly Spectre for another post I had started to write because I wanted to link back to her, but I ended up getting distracted. The Project Wonderful ad (left hand side bar, above Logo Swap Exchange) caught my eye.
It was for something I hadn’t seen before and said something about an exclusive sneak peak. Hmmm…a new movie? I clicked through and was taken to the “Watch Trailer” Tontine Massacre Facebook page tab. I watched the trailer and got chills.
I love, love, LOVE reality TV shows like Survivor and the Amazing Race. (As well as the Hills, the City, and all the Real Housewives franchises. But the game show ones are my all-time favorites.)
And Rob Mariano, a.k.a. “Boston Rob” (for those in the Survivor know)? Adore him! I love his upfront style and strategery. (No, that’s not a real word. I believe President G. W. Bush once “created” it through a misspoken blunder. I happen to think it’s one of his best blunder contributions ever.)
Anyway, Boston Rob’s in the movie. I watched the trailer and felt the same excited anticipation I’ve had after watching trailer previews like Phasma ex Machina and The Crazies.
I’ve been waiting for someone to make a horror something, be it book or movie or TV series, about Reality TV gone amuck. Tontine Massacre just might deliver.
I posted the trailer below, but they’re going to have a free sneak peak this Thursday, July 1. All you have to do is “Like” their Facebook page to unlock your access. It’s a busy week, but I’m hoping to sneak some time to check out their sneak peak and see how this movie stacks up!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
