A Haunted Road Atlas: Next Stop releases September 2024 from Andrews McMeel Publishing.

Were you a fan of A Haunted Road Atlas: Sinster Stops, Dangerous Destinations, and True Crime Tales? If so, you’ll be happy to know that a second book in the same vein (illustrations and all) is coming just in time for Halloween season. A Haunted Road Atlas: Next Stop releases September 24, 2024.

A Haunted Road Atlas was the debut book by the wildly popular hosts of the hit podcast And That’s Why We Drink, Christine Schiefer and Em Schulz. The book followed suit from a popularity standpoint, becoming a New York Times bestseller.

Next Stop

Per their publishing company, Andrews McMeel, Next Stop is “a gripping sequel” that once again explores “everything from unsolved mysteries to spectral encounters.” It “promises even more thrills, spills, and paranormal chills.”

“We’ve never been particularly good at stopping a project when we know there’s more we can do,” Schulz said. “Our last book was just not enough for us, and we are so excited to bring even more sinister stories your way! We advise that you pair this book with a box of wine, a hearty milkshake, and maybe a protection spell in case things go awry.”

Next Stop will explore all the places Schiefer and Schulz didn’t get to include in the first book. This time around, they’re focusing on 30 new cities they’ve fallen in love with on their travels…and the scariest places that left them shaking in their boots. As they put it, “Buckle up—it’s going to be a wild ride!”

No word on what the cities are yet. I guess we’ll have to buy the book to find out.

The ATWWD Tour

Confession: I don’t listen to the show, so I had no idea that Schiefer and Schulz also tour. But apparently they’ve been doing that since 2018. Their latest live tour, “On the Rocks,” has been selling out across North America.

But they’re going to debut an all-new tour, “Pour Decisions,” in the fall of 2024. Presumably to coincide with Next Stop‘s release.

  1. Wrapping my hands around a warm mug of anything lowers my stress, so hot coffee/cocoa/whatever is perfect for a nail-biting horror show or book!

Oooo! I think I read that somewhere about what a comfort that is to wrap your hands around a warm drink, Priscilla. I don’t think I ever tried it on purpose (or besides trying to warm up my hands), but I’m going to give this trick a try the next time I’m anxious or scared thanks to you!
