How’d you like to spend a spooky sleepover at the San Francisco Dungeon for Halloween? Well, you can’t now. But if you’d been in the know and had been lucky enough to book in time, you could’ve had the chance to do it.

On October 19, a friend forwarded me a press release titled: “Booking.com to Offer Positively Chilling Overnight Accommodations at The San Francisco Dungeon This Halloween…If You Dare.”

Underground Attraction’s “Ghosts of Alcatraz” Suite Will Offer the Ultimate Spooky Stay Experience

Sadly, between the site going down and me trying to get ready to leave on an unexpected vacation, I didn’t get a chance to write about it earlier.

But I’m home again and can now!

The “Ghosts of Alcatraz” Suite

The private stay at the popular underground attraction became available exclusively through Booking.com on October 24 for the evenings of Monday, October 29Tuesday, October 30; and Wednesday, October 31.

Accommodations in the “Ghosts of Alcatraz” suite was offered for the dirt cheap price of $66.60 per night, per room, for up to two (un)lucky devils. (That’s a scary good bargain. A room that cheap in the Fisherman’s Wharf area? Unheard of! Even if the accommodations are “bare bones.”)

Here’s what else came with the price:

  • Dungeon-issued PJs, midnight snacks and spooky welcome cocktail
  • A ghost story before being tucked-in for a not-so-comfortable night’s sleep
  • A “witching-hour séance” to conjure up the dead
  • VIP entry for each guest to the final San Francisco Dungeon show of the evening during the stay
  • Breakfast in bed along with a swag bag of Dungeon goodies

Other Ways to Celebrate Halloween in the Dungeon

Horror fans who missed out on taking advantage of the spooky sleepover can still experience the San Francisco Dungeon’s Halloween programming.

They’ll have guided séances and more, providing visitors an uncanny glimpse of the spirits lurking beneath historic Fisherman’s Wharf.

And here’s what the dungeon’s all about in case you’re not familiar:

The San Francisco Dungeon is an exciting theatrical visitor attraction. We bring to life the stories of old San Francisco with a full theatrical actor cast, special effects, gripping storytelling, and 360 degree sets. The hysterically horrible engaging stories will take you through 9 live actor led shows as you experience reenacted scenes from the colorful Gold Rush era to authentic tales about the Barbary Coast criminal gangs, Alcatraz, the Shanghai Kelly boat show and more. It’s hilarious fun and sometimes a little bit scary. This is the ultimate live action journey through the Bay Area’s authentic past and includes the new Escape Alcatraz drop ride which creates a thrilling finale to the Dungeon experience.
