The other day David Oman reached out to me about a three day live Oman House streaming event he’s doing August 7-9, 2020. It’s going to be similar to the Conjuring House live stream, but also different. Here’s a Tweet he posted about it:

David Oman is no stranger to welcoming visitors to his home. Pre-coronavirus pandemic, he’d host paranormal investigators from time to time. Often around the anniversary of the Sharon Tate murders.

But maybe I’m jumping ahead. In case you’re not familiar with David Oman’s house, let’s recap.

The Oman House

David and his father built the house in 1999. It’s not a 100-year-old Victorian, no. It’s pretty modern really.

But, as any Poltergeist fan can attest, the age of the home doesn’t matter. The history of the land does.

The Oman House was built less than 200 feet from what was 10050 Cielo Drive. That’s where the Manson Family murdered Sharon Tate, Wojciech Frykowski, Abigail Folger, Jay Sebring, and Steven Parent on August 9, 1969.

The Haunting

In a LA Weekly article called “The Ghosts of the Manson Murders, Next Door to Where Sharon Tate Was Killed,” David Oman told the reporter that while the house was being built, a worker reported hearing footsteps on the top floor, but nobody was there. Others also heard footsteps, as well as voices and felt cold breezes on the backs of their necks.

Then, one night in 2004, David awoke to see the apparition of a man at the foot of his bed. The man pointed towards the driveway, which leads to the place where the murders happened.

David went to the LAPD to see if he could find out more about the murders. That’s when he saw a photo of one of the victims, Jay Sebring. That’s who he had seen at the foot of his bed.

Since then he’s experienced even more activity, much of which he’s caught on video. He’s very generous about sharing it on his YouTube Channel.

He’s also recently published a book, Ghosts of Cielo Drive: The Afterlife of Sharon Tate and the Spirits of the Oman House.

The Live Stream

Other than knowing he’s planning to do the live stream –which will take place almost 51 years to the day of the murders– there aren’t a lot of details yet.

But I love that he’s considering doing an Oman House streaming event like this. At least that way he can still welcome visitors and give those of us who haven’t been able to get to one of his in-person events another way to experience his house.

I’m hoping to interview him for the podcast and/or have him as a paramour for a Terror Tryst so I can find out more. If I do, I’ll be sure to share details in a follow up post.

  1. I didn’t know Oman had written a book. Doing a live stream when he can’t physically host a group at his house makes sense.
