I’ve been getting more and more paranormal event invites on Facebook. Sometimes I remember to share them on HJ’s FB page. Other times I don’t.
When I don’t share them I feel bad. I want to help spread the word when I can. I’m just not always consistent about it.
I thought I might try something new and see how it works. Every week I’ll put together a post like this. At least on weeks when I have paranormal events to share. I’ve got notes in my calendar set to remind me to do it and everything!
So here goes, this week’s upcoming paranormal events.
Paracon at the Lakeshore II – Kewaunee Inn at Hamachek Village Kewaunee, WI June 9, 2012
A Journey Through Ancient Egypt – Mystical Heart Spiritual Center Mount Juliet, TN June 9, 2012
Victorian Seance Night – Miss Fanny’s Victorian Party House NY June 9, 2012
Crystaliscious Characters and Channeling – Mystical Heart Spiritual Center Mount Juliet, TN June 10, 2012
4th Annual Through the Veil – Hyatt Regency Atlanta Atlanta, GA June 8-10, 2012
I totally planned to go to the Above the Veil event, but I had to wait to see how my USTA team did during our spring season before I could get commit. See, the State Championship was the same weekend. As captain of our team, it was my responsibility to keep this weekend open on the off chance we made it to State.
Low and behold, we won our league and are going to State this weekend. Either way I was destined to be somewhere doing something I love the second weekend in June 2012, if not down in Atlanta getting a paranormal fix, in Memphis playing tennis to my heart’s content!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
I actually can’t believe how many paranormal events there are – and that’s just in the States.
Very cool that you you’re heading to State championships. Hope it’s a whole lot of fun.
I’ll be in Boulder later in June and I wish I ahd more time to touch base with you.
I was really bummed about not being able to pull off a trip to Through the Veil myself. That whole event was right up my alley, as well as there were several guest speakers and people going in particular I would’ve loved to see and meet in person.
🙁 Oh well.
Can’t say my 2nd weekend in June was as exciting/rewarding as yours though! Congrats on your team’s victory!!! I be very happy for you!
I’d love to go to a Victorian Seance Night, that’s something I’ve never done. It’s too bad I don’t live near New York. Do you know of any other good resources that aggregate paranormal events, Courtney?
Me too, Emma! Doesn’t it sound awesome! I don’t know of any place that aggregates paranormal events per se. If you happen to find any, let me know. I’d for sure follow them!
Aw! THANKS, Ms. Kimberley! I am actually glad I didn’t bail on my team now to do the event, even tho I wanted to go to it too. But then we wouldn’t have had 5 at State, so we couldn’t have gone, we wouldn’t have known the joy of winning, and we wouldn’t be headed to Mobile. So I’m pretty happy really. But if they do another one of these with some of the same speakers, I’d go. Like you said, they were going to have a pretty awesome lineup. I am sorry I missed out.
Well, Aaron Sagers tweeted me that he hopes I can make it to Through the Veil next year. I do too! Though I am working on saving for a weekend in NYC in October with our Destination Truth Fan Ambassador as Josh will be at NYC Comic Con, and I’ll likely get the chance to meet Aaron there as well. I would have preferred the Through the Veil event, but I’ll take what I can get (and can afford).
Tough decisions to make when there’s all sorts of cool stuff going on at the same time. But you, my friend, obviously made the right choice. 🙂
I’d like to meet Aaron in person some day too. I hope you get to go to NYC Comic Con. I bet that is WILD!
