I am very pleased to announce the official launch of HauntJaunts.net!
FYI
The site’s still not complete, though. I’ve added a lot of Jaunts, but there are still a ton more in the queue.
But, you know, if there’s one thing my hitchhiker has taught me it’s that life is too freaking short. Rather than try to add every Haunt Jaunt then launch, I figured, “What the heck! The main one’s are in, let’s get the party started. We can grow as we go.”
So…September 2009 has become the official launch month for HauntJaunts.net!
THIS MONTH’S SHORT STORIES AND TRAVEL ARTICLES
The goal is to feature new short stories and travel articles every month. Here’s the one I decided to feature for our inaugural publication:
- Dining with Ghosts at the Spaghetti Warehouse in Houstonby Norma Jean Lipert (travel article)
- The Melting Pot by Mary Glass (travel article)
- Echoes from the Valley by Helen Henderson
If you’re a writer and have a travel article or short story you’d like to submit, check out our guidelines for specifics.
SOCIAL NETWORKING WITH HAUNTJAUNTS.NET
For me personally I don’t have anything to really Tweet about, so I’ve long resisted joining Twitter. But my defenses were finally broken when enough people asked, “Are you on Twitter? HauntJaunts.net would be great for it.”
I figured if it would make life easier for people to follow the happenings that way, who am I to make things more complicated? So now you can find HauntJaunts.net on Twitter.
I am on Facebook and finally figured out how to add a page for HauntJaunts.net so…if you want to become a fan and follow us on Facebook you can now do that too.
OTHER FUN STUFF
You may have noticed I added a couple extra pages to the blog.
Reader Testimonials allow Jaunters to leave comments about Haunt Jaunts they’ve made and share experiences they’ve had.
Then there’s the Promo Video. I wrote about the making of and have been busting to share it, so…now I finally can. (I also embedded it below.)
ENJOY!
Thank you for your enthusiasm and interest in HauntJaunts.net. I know how valuable your time is and that there are similar sites for ghost enthusiasts out there. I really appreciate you checking mine out, and, as always, I wish you many happy and haunting Haunt Jaunts.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
