If you follow HJ on social media (Twitter, Facebook and Insta), you might’ve seen our Dolly Parton Challenge. If not, you’ve seen it now!
When I first shared it on Twitter last week, one friend laughed and said, “Dolly Parton Challenge? What the heck is that?”
I happen to know he doesn’t watch much mainstream news, so he missed it. If you’re like him, here’s a quick recap:
Dolly Gets Social
Around January 21, Dolly shared the embedded post on Instagram with the simple caption, “Get you a woman who can do it all” (with a wink emoji):

Get you a woman who can do it all ?
As Time put it, it was “made-to-be-memed magic.”
Yes it was. Celebrities and regular folks alike wanted in on the fun and bam. Just like that, the Dolly Parton Challenge went viral quicker than the Coronavirus!
Get You a Boo Who Can Spook It All
I caught the Dolly Parton Challenge bug too.
The images I wanted to use were no-brainers. I “saw” them mapped out in my head before I even dug through my files to collage them.
Although, I was a little worried about how the Tinder one might be received. A spooky naked baby doll cracked me up –“Hey, baby. How you doin’?”– but would others see the humor, or would they think it was creepy in a quasi-pedophilia way? Luckily, so far everyone’s just laughed.
Spooky Dolly Parton Challenges
Okay, not all of the Dolly Parton Challenges below are spooky, but they do all have something “spooky” in common. They’re either from a haunted place (real or the Halloween variety) or are otherwise somehow associated with the paranormal.
Which do you like best?
Check-In
Did you partake in the Dolly Parton Challenge? Have you seen any that made you LOL too? (They don’t have to be spooky or paranormal. I saw a hilarious Golden Girls one!)
Don’t hold out! If you’re on social media, tag me (@HauntJaunts on Twitter and Insta) so I can see too!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
These are hilarious! Especially the Bigfoot one, LOL!
SOOOO glad to hear someone else found these amusing too!
