Re-Construction Done on the Scareporium

As I explained today over at the Scareporium and on HJ’s FB page, today we put the finishing touches on the Scareporium. Two weeks ago we noticed a major SNAFU. Broken links littered throughout the site prompting a “Site down! Site down!” fire drill.

Ugh. Major headache.

I knew I had weeks-worth of re-entries to accomplish, but I was also trying to finish reading stories for the anthology. With prime Halloween season looming, I had to make a decision: finish the stories first or fix the site?

The site won out. I have monthly web hosting fees to consider. Halloween is when I bank the most bucks to pay for my operating costs. (Which will also include the costs of publishing the anthology so…yep. It became imperative to get the Scareporium back up and running.)

So I buckled down and got to work re-constructing it.

It turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I was able to better organize it and add a couple of new sections, such as Christmas and Faves. (That’s right, you read it right: Christmas. Hey the “(and more!)” in the Scareporium’s tagline is there for a reason.)

With the Scareporium back up to snuff, I’m hopeful I can finish reading the anthology submissions and get that ball rolling.

I’m also hopeful I’ll be back to posting more pertinent topics on here. You know, more Halloween/haunted places type stuff. I only have a slew of topics I want to write about. I’m rarely lacking for material. Time, time, time is what always eludes me.

If you get a chance, go check out the Scareporium. I’ve got some great stuff featured over there. Everything from Costumes to Decor and Party Supplies.

Below is a little sneak peek of the products I’m most smitten with this year. (All of which can be found in the Faves section, in addition to their respective categories.)

AtmosFEAR Digital Decor DVDs

There are several different ones, but these are the two I bought.

Atmosfear Bone Chiller Dvd (This is the one I wrote about in a Feature Friday post on the Scareporium.)

AtmosFEARfx Jack O Lantern Dvd

Digital Dudz

I’m completely over the moon for these. They pair creepy fashion with your smart phone to make an animated art statement (as far as I’m concerned.)

Halloween Pet Toys

Sadly our household is currently dog-less. Our beloved last pooch, Murph, loved this style of toy. I’m not sure who would’ve gotten the bigger kick out of these if he was still around for me to treat him to them.

Paranormal Investigator Plates

Ok, these aren’t Halloween-related exactly but they are totally related to the interests of this site. Love them!
