We were only in New Orleans one night, but sometimes that’s all you need. In a place with the type of paranormal history and reputation that the French Quarter in particular has, almost any picture could take on a paranormal persona.
A better photographer could’ve capitalized on the way the moonlight backlit the clouds and shimmered against the night sky.
I did not possess the power to do that. I was having a hard enough time just trying to get any of the pictures in focus.
But I did see the potential for some really great shots showcasing the paranormal prowess and mystique that New Orleans and the French Quarter are renowned for. And I did manage to snap a few intriguing shots that, while they don’t capture any spirits, they do capture the spirit and atmosphere of one of the most haunted cities in America.
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
