Ah, Halloween is over, but the memories linger on. Here are six of my favorite pumpkin pictures from this year:
1. WHERE PUMPKIN PIE COMES FROM
My friend James McAvoy first shared this one with me on Facebook. I’m not sure if his friend shared it with him, or if his friend was responsible for creating it, but it’s now going viral. Another friend of mine (with no connection to James) shared it with me by email this week. This was hands down my favorite this year. So funny!
2. PUKING PUMPKIN
The above picture is actually not from this year. It’s from a Halloween past. A neighbor up the street made it. He made another one this year, too, but I didn’t get a picture in time. (We ended up having a big storm that washed away most of the puke before I could.)
However, I always think puking pumpkins are fun and this is one of my favorites! (I even included it in an article from last year about Halloween decorations. Likely I’ll post it again next year somewhere too. Mostly I like that I know the person responsible for making it puke.)
3. PAINTED PUMPKINS
I really liked all the pumpkins that were on parade All Hallow’s Eve at Cheddar’s, but the Mummy, Witch and Bat pumpkins were ones I particularly liked because they were the ones most in the spirit of things.
4. PUMPKINBALES
I know this one isn’t really a pumpkin, but it was decorated to look like one so I’m counting it. Besides, I loved driving past and seeing their smiling faces all month. (As I wrote about before, there were two of them.) Good times!
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
