When I worked as a paralegal in Phoenix in the late 1990s, my attorney’s secretary had an eight-year-old daughter who was nuts for Beanie Babies. This was around the time Beanie Babies were all the rage.

Our offices were in the Arizona Center and there was a gift store that sold Beanie Baby products. When  new ones were released, Mary would be first in line to get them. Her daughter had I don’t know how many. Pretty much the complete collection at that time.

I hadn’t thought much about Beanie Babies until the other day when I learned about all the supernatural ones they had. It all started when I discovered Ty made a NESS-E the Loch Ness Monster Beanie Baby.

NESS-E

I couldn’t believe they’d make something like that. But if they’d made one for the Loch Ness Monster, what other kind of supernatural Beanie Babies might exist?

I went on a quest to find out. Here’s what I discovered: Ty’s got a whole slew of supernatural Beanie Babies!

We’re talking ghosts, vampires, black cats, dragons, a “monster” or two. They’ve even got a “Halloweenie Beanie” (say that out loud, it’s just fun!) collection.

I rounded a few up from the Beanie Babies section of the Holiday Gift Ideas in the Haunt Jaunts Emporium to show you. (I had to create a section just for them when I saw how many supernatural type ones there were!)

Scooby Doo With Witch Hat (There’s nothing supernatural about Scooby, but he is a famous ghost and monster hunter so I had to include him. They also make a regularBeanie Baby Scooby Doo with no hat, as well as a Scooby Doo with Christmas Hat for the holidays.)

And since it is the holidays I’ll throw in two other seasonal mythical creatures that Ty made into Beanie Babies: ROXIE the Red Nose Reindeer and the most famous reinder of all, Rudy.

Did you ever collect Beanie Babies? (Or maybe you still do?) Got any of the above in your collection?

SO crazy you mentioned that about Zodiac. I was trying to think if I knew anyone born in the year of the dragon. I would get Zodiac for a gift. I had meant to put it on my “things to research” list and forgot…until your comment. See? People born then WOULD like him. You’re proof!

    Thanks for the comment!
