“Is the Ghost Adventures team going to investigate with the Skinwalker Ranch guys?” I wondered when I saw the announcement about the new season of Ghost Adventures. As they did with the “Lake of Death” and “Devil’s Island” episodes ahead of past seasons, they’ll also kick off this all-new season with a special two-hour episode, “Skinwalker Invasion.” It’ll premiere on Discovery Channel and stream on Max on Wednesday, May 15.

But see why I wondered if they were headed to Skinwalker Ranch? If they’re on the hunt for Skinwalkers, that’s the place to find them.

They are headed to Utah but not to the Uintah basin, where the infamous ranch is located. (And which isn’t open to the public. The closest you can get in person is to stay at the nearby UFO Valley Campground.)

Instead, the Ghost Adventures team is headed about four hours south of Skinwalker Ranch’s location to Torrey, Utah, near the Capitol Reef National Park.

The Skinwalker Invasion Episode

Even though the Ghost Adventures crew isn’t investigating Skinwalker Ranch, there is a connection. The episode’s trailer reveals that after visiting the ranch, a son returned home and started experiencing terrifying Skinwalker sightings, which left him and his family in fear. Will Bagans and team be able to help?

During their investigation, they enlist the help of Native American practitioners who guide them on sacred ground. Will they be able to determine whether the shape-shifting creatures’ recent appearance is a result of the misuse of Native American artifacts or if they were summoned?

“Sometimes Skinwalkers have bounties to kill people,” the guide says in the trailer while Bagans and team investigate a cave.

That’s a scary thought, as are the glowing-eyed Skinwalkers in the trailer. And, of course, there’s a demonic element.

“I’m learning these Skinwalkers can affect you like a demonic attachment,” Bagans says.

It seems to affect one of the team members more than the others. Will they find themselves compromised in a battle between dark spirits and ancient energy?

“This season begins with one the most surreal investigations we’ve ever done,” said Bagans. “The activity the team and I witnessed in and around Torrey, Utah, was terrifying. There is an incredibly old and intense energy permeating the area that has created a vortex of paranormal activity of both the human and non-human kind.”

After Skinwalker Invasion

Here’s what we know about some of the other upcoming episodes:

  • Bagans and team will conduct the first-ever paranormal investigation of the historic Los Angeles Hospital. It’s believed thousands of deaths have left disturbing energy roaming its abandoned halls.
  • They’ll visit an Arizona hotel connected to one of America’s most violent gangsters. The hotel is now rumored to be plagued with poltergeist activity.
  • They’ll also saddle up and head to an Old West town haunted by a blood-soaked curse and a former brothel overrun with dark spirit activity.

  1. Sometimes Skinwalkers have bounties to kill people?! Eek! I wouldn’t want to see a crossover episode knowing people might be put in danger. Okay, that assumes Skinwalkers are real, but there are a lot of things about this universe that we don’t understand!

  2. Gotta hand it to them; they’re pretty brave about going where they could get seriously hurt. It’s what they do for a living, I guess. I’d be too leery of attracting serious trouble and having it follow me home.

  3. Thanks for the information,Courtney! Hope the GAC stay safe during all their adventures but especially the search for the Skinwalker. The Skinwalker is no joke!

That was my first reaction when I heard about the bounties too, Priscilla. WTH?! I had never heard that before. I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your answer about why you’d prefer not to see a crossover. Not only about the keeping everyone safe, but also about how you’d rather hedge your bet since even though we don’t know for sure Skinwalkers exist, we also don’t know everything there is to know about our great big beautiful mysterious universe. Once again, your response shines a light on that stellar soul you possess!

It’ll be interesting to see if they do suffer any on the job issues after this investigation, Maria. Great point!

Hey Jim! Safety seems to be the thing everyone’s most worried about for them on this investigation like no other. I think because you put it best: “The Skinwalker is no joke!”

  7. Dear Ghosties, I love the Ghost Adventures Crew and the Skinwalker Ranch Crew too. Yes, All these investigations are dangerous. As we are uncovering more and more paranormal activity everywhere. The one thing everyone needs to be aware of is “God didn’t tell us how hard is to be human when we don’t understand our own environment”. To all scientific investigators good luck out there and be safe. I enjoyed everyone’s comments, especially Jim’s comment that, “The Skinwalker is no Joke!!!!!”. Sincerest Dr. Rev. Rebecca L. Burkett

What an amazing quote, Dr. Burkett. (Or is it Dr. Rev. Burkett? I don’t know how to format that, so apologies if I got it wrong.) THANK YOU for taking the time to share your pearls of wisdom!
