I write about my love for cruising a lot here on Haunt Jaunts, so it’s no wonder this Strange Escapes event caught my eye: “Witching You Were Here,” a Paranormal Cruise from Salem to Bermuda, May 25th, 2017-June 2nd, 2017.

Well, to be honest, witches, ghosts and cruising all caught my eye.

It’s a little misleading because there’s not actually a cruise port in Salem. You’ll embark from Boston.

However, the night before the cruise leaves they’re having a Meet and Greet Mixer in Salem with the celebrity hosts that will be on-board. (I’ll get to them in a second.)

Here’s what else will be happening in Salem:

  • A two hour paranormal investigation of multiple hot spots in downtown Salem, MA
  • A historical lecture about Salem’s turbulent history

They have blocks of rooms reserved at the Hawthorne Hotel for the “Strange Escapes Cruise to Bermuda” group. The cost of which is in addition to your cruise price. (However, transportation from Salem to the cruise port in Boston is included in your cruise pricing.)

Just call the hotel and ask for the Strange Escapes rate or use group code AB0622 when booking online.

What You Can Expect

During your cruise, activities will include:

  • Multiple ‘at sea’ paranormal themed lectures
  • A gallery reading onboard with psychic Chip Coffey
  • Two onboard cocktail parties
  • One onboard group dinner
  • A private walking ghost tour in Bermuda
  • Viewing of the Traveling Museum of the Paranormal and Occult

Celebrity Hosts

Along with Strange Escapes founder Ami Bruni, you can hob nob with:

  • Grant Wilson
  • Adam Berry
  • Chip Coffey
  • John Tenny
  • Tim Weisberg
  • Greg Newkirk & Dana Matthews

Pricing

As is the norm with cruises, prices are per person based on double occupancy. (So basically double the numbers below for two in a room.)

If you’re traveling solo, you’ll pay a different price. Since it’s Norwegian and they tend to cater to single travelers, you can expect to pay a little less, but still near, the doubled-double occupancy rates.

Inside Cabins
$1,479.00 to $1,499.00

Ocean View Cabins
$1,709.00 to $1,749.00

Balcony Cabins
$2,179.00 to $2,199.00

Even though this cruise caught my eye, it’s a little too rich for my blood. (We’re deal cruisers. If it’s not $100/person/night, we’re out because we know we can do better.)

However, if it was me and someone else who was a paranormal enthusiast (Mr. Wayne isn’t), I might pay in order to hang out with such a fun-looking crew. And for the chance to go back to Bermuda. Very nice island. One of my favorite destinations.
