Thanks to an announcement that Travel Channel and discovery+ made in May about a full slate of new series, specials, and seasons ahead for their 2022 paranormal programming, we knew a little of what to expect for Ghostober 2022. However, today they revealed the full enchilada of programming.
Like last year, Ghostober 2022 will once again be a multiplatform crossover event. Over 55 hours of spine-tingling new series, specials, and returning shows are set to air on Travel Channel and Food Network, and will stream on discovery+…all in time for the Halloween season. We’re talking everything from hair-raising ghost hunts and tales of the supernatural to show-stopping pumpkin carvings.
Says Kathleen Finch, chairman and chief content officer, U.S. Networks Group at Warner Bros. Discovery about the yearly event:
“Fans have come to view ‘Ghostober’ as the unofficial start of the holiday season, and with our 25+ U.S. networks, we can promote all of its in-demand content to more than 35% of cable’s nightly primetime audience. ‘Ghostober’ is a proven success with record levels of engagement across social media, and this year we’ve increased the number of hours across our platforms to super-serve the audience. We are officially the home of Halloween.”
There is a lot —and I do mean A LOT— to unpack. The spooky spectacular officially kicks off on September 12 on Travel Channel with a Ghostober 2022 preview party. Let’s start there and work our way through all of what this seasonal event has to offer this year.

Which Ghostober 2022 show(s) and/or special(s) are you most excited about?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
