The Haunted Museum in Mapperley, Nottingham, U.K., is housed inside the Old Majestic Theater.  According to its website, it home to evil spirits, 1,000+ haunted objects and “a mirror room said to turn visitors mad.”

Sounds like a great place to visit, right? But wait, it gets better.

Visitors can not only tour the museum and its oddities, but, because it’s also reputed to be haunted, it’s also available for paranormal investigations.

In fact, it claims to be the 29th most haunted location in the United Kingdom. (However, it doesn’t list what place gave it that distinction, which is always one I struggle with. Can one place really be “more” haunted than another or is it that it’s more popular than another? That’s always a post for another time, however.)

Suffice it to say, it’s a creepy destination.

Well, it is when it’s open, which, like so many places, it hasn’t been since March due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Closed

And it may remain closed until the U.K. enters Phase Four of re-opening because that’s what category the Haunted Museum in Nottingham finds itself in because of its space –or, rather, lack therof.

As reported in the Nottingham Post, the museum is not conducive to proper social distancing.

Its dark and narrow hallways, hidden doorways, claustrophobic staircases and chockablock exhibition rooms are what tourists flock to see…

Winchester Mystery House doesn’t seem like it would be conducive to social distancing either, but they’ve recently found a way to reopen. Maybe’s the Haunted Museum in Nottingham will too? It’ll all depend on when theaters and other such venues are allowed to reopen. #WaitingGame

The Live Stream

However, people still can see inside the museum, via their Live Stream.

They have two options: one hour or three hours.

The one hour live stream costs £2 and the three hours costs £4. That grants you access to the 11 cameras they have stationed throughout the museum.

Not that I can get over there, that is. But for those there who would like to go. It’s on my One Day list, though.
