Back in December, I took a podcast jaunt with Jim Dean. Jim is the Creative Director for The Haunted Walk ghost tour company out of Canada and is also the host of their Haunted Talks podcast. If The Haunted Walk sounds familiar, they’re also the ones who came up with the Haunting at Home paranormal adventure that I’m obsessed with, which was among the topics we discussed during our chat.

Which, side note, you can still buy the Haunting at Home paranormal adventure and partake in the experiment yourself until March 2020. If you use code HAUNTJAUNTS, you’ll get 50% off! To purchase, visit: https://hauntedwalk.com/the-haunting-at-home/.

Do we get a commission? Yes! Jim extended us a partnership opportunity, and we even sold a few last year. However, we opted not to take the payout.

2020 was too rough on the travel industry. I asked Jim to kindly either buy a cup of coffee or a beer for some of his ghost tour guides or to reinvest it into whatever other new cool projects they may have in store for 2021. I’ll continue to forfeit any earnings until tourism is back to normal.

Anyway, Jim surprised me and asked if I’d be okay syndicating our chat and allowing them to publish it on their podcast. By all means! I was so tickled pink because I thought it was a marvelous chat. He’s really well-spoken and had so many great insights to share about the results of the experiment, on top of sharing some great ghost stories.

The episode is now live on their podcast, but before it starts to play, he shared some info about something else they have coming up in February: Virtual Haunted Campfires.

Virtual Haunted Campfires 2021

Jim orchestrated Virtual Haunted Campfires in 2020 too. They were “five nights (and one afternoon) with the Best Ghost Storytellers in the World!” Not to mention a clever response to the need for safe and socially distant spooky storytelling during the pandemic. (See what I mean? He really comes by the title “Creative Director” honestly.)

The campfires took place in October via Zoom and tickets were $10.

Well, in the intro to the replay of our chat, he shared that the virtual haunted campfires were returning in 2021! In February even, so we don’t have to wait until Halloween.

Full details haven’t been released yet, but you know what this sounds like to me? A great excuse to ask if he’d be game for another chat! I’ll be sure to share whatever further info I learn.

What are your favorite podcasts? They don’t have to be paranormal or spooky. I myself am always on the lookout for a good podcast of any kind too, so I’m asking for selfish reasons.
