Are you a fan of Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House? If so, The Inheritance trailer may be worth your peepers. ComicBookMovie.com described the forthcoming horror movie as “channeling” Hill House, so of course I had to check it out.
However, before we get to the trailer, let’s first establish which “Inheritance” movie we’re looking at because there are others, both of which are also pretty recent.
This is not The Inheritance (2020) movie directed by Ephraim Asili. It’s also not the Inheritance movie without the “The” in front of it directed by Michael Kenneth Fahr that, as of this posting, has not yet been released but filming has been completed. It’s also not the no-“the”-in-front-of-it Inheritance thriller drama from 2020 starring Lily Collins that was directed by Vaughn Stein.
This The Inheritance is a supernatural thriller directed by Chad Barager and Kevin Speckmaier and hasn’t been released yet. (But will be soon.)
Let’s get a little better acquainted with what it’s about, who’s in it, and when we might expect to see it.
The Inheritance Storyline
This description is from Fizz E-Motion, an international film distribution company involved in the movie.
Sasha a young American woman with Ukrainian roots inherits an old building in Kiev. Together with Peter, her boyfriend, they fly to Ukraine. They are supposed to stay just some few days just the time to sell the house. But Sasha is fascinated by the house and she feels something strange there, an irrational connection. Next to that the locals are acting very weirdly. As the days pass, she unveils a series of dark secrets and a gruesome murder which will now come to hunt her and the building.
The Inheritance Cast
It stars Natalia Ryumina as Sasha and Nick Wittman as Peter.
The Inheritance Release Date
It was released in the U.S. on September 18, 2020, for the Catalina Film Festival.
According to ComicBookMovie.com, it’s set to hit on-demand and DVD on April 13 so we’ll be able to check it out then.
Awards & Ratings
Also worth mentioning is that Natalia Ryumina won an award for Best Actress for her role. Here’s her Insta post about it:
And while it only has 24 ratings on IMDB so far, of those who have seen it, they liked it because it’s got 6.1 out of 10 stars, which isn’t too shabby as far as horror movies go.
The Inheritance Trailer 1
This was the trailer ComicBookMovie.com shared in its post about the movie, and the first one I saw. But there’s also another, slightly different version, which I’ve also included. (Below.)
The Inheritance Trailer 2
I found this trailer after checking out Fizz E-Motion’s site. It’s similar to the first trailer but adds a little something extra too.
Check-In
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
Oh, the trailers look SO good! If I inherited a haunted house, I’d think it was a ghost targeting my family, so I would definitely sell it to someone outside the family. Then the ghost would go away, probably. And if it didn’t I’d feel really bad!
lol! I love seeing how your mind works!
