The Real Housewives on Ghost Hunters?

As I was watching King of the Lost World this morning on Syfy I saw an ad for the new season of Ghost Hunters starting August 25.

I did a double take when I saw who some of their special guests were going to be: some of the ladies from the Real Housewives of Atlanta!

Say what?

Besides ghost hunting shows, my other guilty pleasure is watching the Real Housewives franchises. Putting the two together? Talk about having my cake and eating it too!

I’ve often wondered what the Real Housewives (any of them really) think about ghost hunting and stuff. As I watch them living their lives I can’t help but think about my life as a reality TV show.

I don’t lead the ultra-privileged life of the Real Housewives ladies, but I lead a comfortable one. My days revolve around:

  • Tennis
  • Volleyball
  • My pets
  • My relationship with Wayne
  • Travel
  • Blogging about my haunted travels

It wouldn’t make for an interesting show. That’s not the point I’m trying to make. I’m just saying that I travel just outside the kind of social spheres the Real Housewives do.

Some of the ladies I run with are bonafied Real Housewives material though. Most of them tolerate me and find my ghost interests “cute.” (Surprisingly only a couple turn their noses up at it.) A few show more than just polite interest, but would they ever come haunt jaunting with me?

Highly unlikely.

But Bravo and Syfy are all NBC-entwined, so they can pull off the unlikely cross-over. It ought to make for a hysterical episode. (If you’re at all familiar with the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Kim is going to be one of the guest hunters. ‘Nuff said!)

I have kind of fallen off the Ghost Hunters wagon the past couple of seasons, but I’ll most likely climb back aboard to watch that episode. (On an empty bladder I might add. I have a feeling that one might invoke some pee-my-pants laughs!)

  1. A crossover-genre type of show has been proposed in the past. A pilot was filmed and shopped around and the group still exists – The Paranormal Housewives http://paranormalhousewives.wordpress.com/
These ladies are not at all like their Bravo counterparts, however. I have a lot of respect for Kristin and Nicole as investigators.

Way cool! THANKS so much for the tip re these ladies. I checked out their site and saw they were even featured in a Travel Channel show. Missed it, but will look for it in reruns. Thanks so much again for the FYI!
