Happy New Year! What can you look forward to watching on Travel Channel January 4 through 17? There’s the season premiere of Mountain Monsters and the season finale of Most Terrifying with Jason Hawes.

The Expedition Bigfoot team –Bryce Johnson, Dr. Mireya Mayor, Russell Acord and Ronny LeBlanc– have reassembled to respond to the uptick in Bigfoot sightings, just this year. Using an advanced data algorithm, they are honing in on a massive swath of forest in southeast Kentucky, where the mathematical odds of a Bigfoot encounter are greatly increased. This year, their analysis has uncovered something new –possible Bigfoot migratory patterns that may reveal precisely where the legendary beasts will be and when they will be there. Using the latest in advanced technologies, evidence of Bigfoot begins to pile up – including vocalizations, unexplained structures, DNA samples and massive footprints that no man could have left behind. “Call and Response” – Premieres Sunday, January 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT; Concurrent premiere – available to stream the same day on discovery+

After receiving a recording of an alleged Bigfoot call, Bryce Johnson blasts the howl over a speaker to elicit a response. With Russell Acord positioned high on a hill and Ronny LeBlanc and Dr. Mireya Mayor down in the valley below, the team may get the encounter they’re looking for.

“Creepy Hollows” – Premieres Sunday, January 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT; Concurrent premiere – available to stream the same day on discovery+

Deep in a Kentucky hollow, Dr. Mireya Mayor and Ronny LeBlanc encounter several unidentified creatures responding to Bryce Johnson’s recording of a Bigfoot howl. Their investigation of an old mining road uncovers an enormous footprint, confirming they are on the right track.

The surviving members of the AIMS team meet up for the first time after Trapper’s passing to discuss the team’s future and embark on brand-new adventures Trapper had set up for them before he passed. Equipped with his personal journal filled with everything he ever learned about the woods, the team travels to the mountains of the Tygart Valley on a mission to prove that there are still wolves in West Virginia. A bounty was put on them, and the last wolf was said to have been killed in 1900. As the team investigates, they soon believe that not only are there wolves in the Tygart Valley, but something much more mysterious and deadly. Throughout the season, the team learns from locals of massive K9 cryptids with glowing red eyes that inhabit the land and are known by locals as Smoke Wolves. As they dig deeper, they realize that Trapper in fact knew about these creatures back in the 1970s. [Hour-long episodes]

SEASON PREMIERE “The Wolves of West Virginia” – Premieres Sunday, January 10 at 10 p.m. ET/PT

The surviving members of AIMS head out on a brand-new adventure that team leader Trapper set up for them before he passed. Equipped with Trapper’s journal, they travel to the mountains of the Tygart Valley to prove there are still wolves in West Virginia.

“K-9 Tracks by the Grave” – Premieres Sunday, January 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT

A grisly discovery spurs the AIMS team to find out what monster lurks in the shadows of West Virginia’s Tygart Valley. Using Trapper’s journal, they devise an ingenious way to get footprints to help identify the mysterious predator roaming the hills and hollers.

World’s Most Unexplained

Is Elvis still alive? Has extraterrestrial life really visited Earth? Is it possible that some people see religious statues move or bear the crucifixion wounds of Jesus? Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango are back for more adventures to the other side in a new season of Ghost Nation. This season’s locations have bigger mysteries, are more chilling and have never been investigated on television. And this time, they are calling in an old friend for some help –paranormal investigator Shari DeBenedetti. On all investigations, collecting evidence is just the beginning. With the help of their local contacts, they’re going to embed themselves in the community, conducting multi-day investigations in an effort to track down the true source of these hauntings and restore peace to the living. Jason Hawes, Steve Gonsalves, Dave Tango and Shari DeBenedetti head to rural Indiana to help a desperate family being terrorized by ghostly growls and bizarre apparitions in their home. But as the team tries to root out the source of the hostile haunting, Tango becomes its target.

  1. Every show sounds fantastic, and the smoke wolves are intriguing. I haven’t heard of that story/legend/creature before.
