“Uncanny, the hit paranormal podcast, returns with a Summer Special that will chill you to the bone,” Danny Robbins promises in the trailer.
Uncanny is a multi-million-download hit paranormal podcast, another season of which Robbins also alludes to in the trailer. He assures listeners it’s in development. However, until it’s released, there’s the Uncanny Summer Special to terrorize us —er, entertain us.
And it’s got a devilishly unforgettable drop date. Monday, June 6 at 18:00…or 6-6-6.
Danny Robins is the creator of the award-winning series The Battersea Poltergeist and writer of the Olivier-nominated West End hit 2:22 – A Ghost Story. Like he does in his acclaimed podcast phenomenon, Uncanny, which explores all things paranormal, he investigates a bizarre and terrifying case in the bonus “Summer Special” too. Let’s take a closer look.
About the Uncanny Summer Special
1998, a British family on vacation in an isolated area of Newfoundland, Canada, finds a lonely, seaside guest house where they are about to spend the most terrifying night of their lives. The trip of a lifetime ends up becoming a holiday from Hell.
Does this remote seaside house really contain a violent supernatural entity? Or can the bizarre and terrifying events of that night be rationally explained?
Uncanny Summer Special Snippets
Here are some snippets from the trailer that really piqued my interest. (I don’t know who said them or I would’ve credited their names.)
“In terms of weirdness factor, this case has really got it all.”
“Intruders in an unknown environment are even scarier. You don’t know the escape routes, this isn’t your own home. This is a strange place with strangers in it.”
“Whatever was in that room wanted to do us harm and wanted to frighten us.”

Check-In
As trailers go, this one has done its job. I’m curious to hear the Uncanny Summer Special case and find out what happened. What about you?
Courtney Mroch is a globe-trotting restless spirit who’s both possessed by wanderlust and the spirit of adventure, and obsessed with true crime, horror, the paranormal, and weird days. Perhaps it has something to do with her genes? She is related to occult royalty, after all. Marie Laveau, the famous Voodoo practitioner of New Orleans, is one of her ancestors. (Yes, really! As explained here.) That could also explain her infatuation with skeletons.
Speaking of mystical, to learn how Courtney channeled her battle with cancer to conjure up this site, check out HJ’s Origin Story.
I’m not normally a podcast person, but once in a while…
LOL! When I do listen it’s usually to fiction or biographies. I try to give my brain a break because stuff like this usually sends me into research mode and I usually reserve podcast listening for my morning walks. BUT…I will make an exception in this case, mostly because it involves Canada and I’m absolutely cuckoo crazy for anything Canadian. lol
