When’s your birthday? Does it fall on any weird holidays or observances?

Since we love strange, bizarre, wacky and unusual celebrations, holidays, and observances, we cultivated the following collection of them that we found from our Sources. (Gotta credit our sources. We didn’t just pull these weird dates out of our hoo-has. Now that would be bizarre!)

The listing is geared towards anything travel, pop culture (especially paranormal, horror, or Halloween), but there are also a few celebrity birthdays and deathiversaries.

In general, if it’s odd and out of the ordinary, it appealed to our unusual sensibilities and made the list.

Weird Holidays & Observances Options

Choose from the following to start exploring our weird and unusual days collection:

Note:

  • Where applicable, if the holiday or observance has an official website, we’ve linked to it.
  • Also where applicable, we’ve listed month-long or week-specific bizarre, wacky or unusual celebrations that we found appealing too. After all, why limit a party to one day when you can party for a whole week or month? Can we get an “Amen!”?

Missing Something?

Something we’re missing? If you know a date, anniversary, birthday, or deathiversary you think we should add, say something! That’s what our Contact Us page is for.

  1. You left out November 29th – Saint Andrews Day (Romania’s Night Of The Vampires) again .
Also October 31st is also Festival Of The Trickster .

Hi Gary! I’m glad you reminded me of this. I think the other time you told me about Nov 29 I was trying to find documentation on it but got distracted before I could. Thanks to your comment I found a restaurant with some backstory on that so I could list it. But I can’t find any references to the Festival of the Trickster. If you know of any, can you pass them on? THX! And THX for stopping by to remind me I needed to add these!

  3. Thanks Courtney for the info about Weird holidays and Observances. This list is very interesting to me.
